Name:Wenyan Xue (using the proper Ch'n naming convention... Xue Wenyan in Terre d'Ange standard).
Gender: Male
Age: 19
Race: Ch'n
Home Providence: Fujian, Ch'n
Appearance: Xue was born a mysteriously pretty Ch'n male, moments following his identical twin brother Xiu. Their skin was so smooth and even that it almost seemed like that of dolls. The twins shared an unusual feature - each has one blue eye. On Xue it is the right while on Xiu it is the left. Aside from that one feature they are indistinguishable from one another.
History: Xue and Xiu were born to highly affluent parents. They were the only sons that the parents were to have, and firstborn. Their father rode them hard, making sure they excelled to the best of their ability and beyond in their academics, physical training and cultural training. Growing up, the twins were largely hermited away, making meaningful contact with others their age nearly impossible; they spent much of their time either in school or being taught the family legacy. Their father wanted them to follow in his foot steps, a life of politics and ownership of land and subordinates.
Xue found this life to be very difficult. He was smart, but not as smart as his father wanted, or as smart as Xiu. Everything seemed to come easier for his twin brother. When they were younger Xue would struggle to equal his brother, but as they aged Xiu started to purposely match his efforts to his brother's level of ability.
Xue also seemed to get sick more often out of the two, as though Xiu had received all the physical vitality of both twins. The brothers were teased as children for their strange eyes and strange connection, and this also took it's toll on Xue, who possessed a much more delicate constitution than Xiu. Xiu protected him and kept him out of harm's way, which was frequently necessary due to Xue's somewhat odd behaviour and vulnerable nature. As Xue aged he came to the decision that the only human presence he wanted to be in was his brother's. No one else mattered to him. He became distant with others, a little defensive and cold to them, while cleaving closer and becoming ever more affectionate with his twin alone. His brother, after all, would always be there, would take care of him and shield him from any storm.
The twins knew everything about each other, sometimes to an unnerving degree, so when they both hit puberty this did not slip past either one's attention. Naturally, this led to new feelings and experimentation. With hardly any attention from the outside and with the little they received being usually negative, the twins soon became more than just blood brothers. They hid their relationship and feelings as best they could, but it was not long before their family grew suspicious. When they were 17 years of age plans were made to send Xue to the residence of an uncle who lived days away. Xue deeply disliked and mistrusted his loud, crass uncle, and besides, the idea of living there without Xiu was far too much to bear. Xiu was disturbed by his brother's new level of fear and he did what he must to protect him. He took his brother away, both fugitives from a family that tried to mold them into something they were not. Xiu had, of course, heard of Terre d'Ange and their more open culture. He hoped that he and his brother could start out new there.
Having been trained to all the arts necessary for entry into the refined world of Ch'n politics, both brothers were well-schooled in cultural pursuits. To earn coin while they travelled, Xiu performed the athletic traditional Ch'n dance, while his wan but intense younger brother accompanied him melancholically on the erhu. These talents have kept them fed, and will keep them in demand as they seek employment as entertainers at the Dragon's Den.
