There was only so much time I could spend at the pubs and bars on the Doorstep without starting to attract some unwanted attention, so after a few nights of going there I knew I had to find something else to do with my time, and preferably without sneaking out of mind window in the dark. I knew what I was doing, and I hadn't really been caught yet but maybe it was just my cockiness that made me think I could keep getting away with my little plans. How stupid would I be if my pride was what kept me from having a comfortable life?
With that in mind, as well as possibly attracting just a little bit of attention toward making some patrons I went into El Parra. It hadn't been opened that long ago, not compared to some of the buildings that had been standing for at least a hundred years, but it did good business. I'd been there at the grand opening and remembered the owner, a very handome man of some means. Maybe I'd luck out this time. My impishly charming smile in place I went inside and found a seat at the bar, ordering a glass of red wine before I took a look around, just to see what the place had in store.

I still tried to stay in the bar aws much as possible, seeing as I had some new employees about since Naia couldn't very well work in a wine shoppe, suggesting wines and teh like while she was with child. I did miss her here though, and wondered if I would get to see her and the babe when it was born. I smiled at the thought in teh back room, just emptying a fresh batch of madeleine's into a crystal bowl to put in the case that held treats and snacks in the front by teh bar. They were fresh, still hot, and my fingertips burned from the heat of them and flicking them into the bowl. The cook shook his head at me. and I laughed. Carrying the bowl, I went through the door and walked behind the showcase, glancing up after I placed teh goodies where they belonged to see hwo business was at teh bar and teh tables, to see waht sorts fo people were milling about teh shoppe and where their interests were. Of course, it being rather late, there were not many people about, but there were enough. It was nigh quitting time for the bar tender and the help in the back, at which poitn I would be left to close up when I decided I was done. My eyes passed over teh bar, but I looked again, recognizing a familiar face, his impish smile, his bright red locks. I remembered him from my grand opening, I had contracted him to amuse the guests, which he had done, and me as well. I grinned as I walked over to the bar, tapping the bartender on the shoulder to let him know he could be relieved.
"Long time no see," I said with a grin. "What are you having?"

There was a movement and I turned back to the bar to see the owner standing in front of me- and he was just as attractive as I remembered. "It's good to see you again too, m'lord," I said with a smile, my violet eyes flashing and my smile widening. "It looks like your shop's doing well. I should have stopped by before now." That was something I meant, it had been too long since I'd come to a place like this and I tended to forget how different it was than the House or the Doorstep. "I was going to try something red but if you have a suggestion I'll definitely listen to it. You're the professional."

I returned his smile. "Well, I am glad you've decided to grace us with your presence," I said teasingly, though I was glad he did stop by, "and for you? Hmmm, what could I suggest..." I mused, crouching behind the bar to look at the bottles I had there. I let my fingers pass gently over the smooth glass of them before I settled on one and pulled it from its cubby hole. "This," I said as I handed him the bottle to look at. "Robust, playful, with a kick, it would be like drinking yourself... as a wine," I said with a laugh.

The bottle he held looked nice, as least as far as I'm one to judge, and I returned his smile as I rested one arm on the bar, my chin on my hand. "It's nice to hear that you think such wonderful things of me, my lord," I replied with a playful bat of my lashes and a cherubic grin that held just a spark of interest. What could I say, he was a handsome man and I thought I'd sensed a little interest from him at that party so long ago- and if I was wrong I'd notice before I offended him. "Since you recommend it so highly I think it's exactly what I'll have, then hopefully I'll be able to tell whether it really is me in that bottle or someone else."

I laughed, reaching for a cork screw as I unwrapped the thin metal wapping from the mouth of the bottle. I pushed the tip of the screw in and twisted until I could pull the cork out with a soft pop. I reached overhead with a flourish and grabbed a stemless glass and slowly poured the deep red liquor into it. I pulled another down for myself to taste.
"Oh I have no doubt that you will be pleased," I mused, "and if you are not, well I will eat my hat," I mused, then, patting the top of my head in feigned realisation that I did not have a hat, I laughed, "or perhaps my breeches," I teased.

"You're running a restaurant from this place, you'd think you could come up with other wagers of things to eat," I said in a joking tone and with a wink as I took the glass. The wine was rich and thick, rather like a good deal of my patrons, but hopefully it wouldn't be dusty, cranky and underwhelming too. "Though if your breeches have to come off I suppose I would enjoy that too. That might be an ulterior motive though." Another tease, but this one with just a little glance of interest that hopefully wouldn't get me thrown out. "Should we toast to something, my lord?"

I chuckled, letting my free hand run through my curly locks as I shook my head. "If my breeches come off, well, I'll have to close up shop," I teased back, raising my glass. "To... reacquainting."

At his toast I raised my glass to his with a smile. "Yes, I think to just that is fantastic," I replied, then took a sip of my wine. It was just as he'd said, with a bit more of a kick than I was used to from wine- but I considered that a good thing, and I let the flavor fill my senses before I swallowed. "You have excellent taste, as always. And I'd hate to think I was so bad for business you'd have to close up shop, my lord, no matter how interesting a picture that would be, so I'll have to admit that it's a wonderful beverage. I can only hope I come across this well."

I smiled, taking a sip, closing my eyes as my mouth filled with its robust flavour. I swallowed it down, opening my eyes to look at Bayard. He was pleased, adn I smiled, clapping my hands together.
S"uccess then!" I grinned. "Though whether you measure up to the wine.. hmm... from what I've seen I would say yes, though there are further tests that need to be conducted," I teased, "for statistical measures, of course," I added, nodding to attempt to convince him, though my playful smile gave teh jest away. "Besides, losing would not have been so bad. The shop will be closing soon enough regardless." I took another sip of my wine, more like a gulp. it was a wonder tha tI was not a drunk having been born into this business. Then again, I was certain at least eighty percent of my blood was wine anyways.

"Well, who am I to argue with the necessity of further scientific tests?" I asked in a playful tone, batting my lashes a little at the tease before I took another drink of my own. "But if you really want me to change my answer and give me a chance to see you without breeches I won't object to that either." He really was a very handsome man and I wouldn't have minded seeing him in varying degrees of undress, including completely nude. But I had to start start somewhere, right?

I laughed. "Oh no, can't go back on it now. Though there are other ways to make me end up breechesless," I mused. I took another sip of my drink.
"Just one moment," I said, holding up my index finger asking him to wait a moment. THere was a customer at the till, the last customer it seemed in the place, waiting for service. I moved over to it, taking the bottle of red they had decided on, smiling as they looked at me. The woman giggled, her eyes flashing over to Bayard, then to me, and then her rbows raised. I chuckled and then winked, and she nodded. I wrapped her bottle in brown paper and put it in a small burlap sack that had been died black and also had the insignia of the de Cordova family on it. I took her coin, gave her her due, and she left, waving as she did. I chuckled as I walked back to Bayard.
"It seems we are alone now," I said, raising my brows and chuckling. "That woman seemed to be of the mind that we should find both of ourselves without breeches, and perhaps a few other choice items."

I'm sure there are, I thought to myself as he mentioned that there were other ways to get him out of his clothes, but I managed to keep myself from saying it and nodded in understanding as he went to deal with a customer. I had some wine and my own thoughts to keep me company and it wasn't as though I was the kind to keep other people from doing their jobs. Besides the two of them were having a silent conversation that I could just see out of the corner of my eye and I was curious how it would turn out.
When Baltazar returned I smiled widely, then laughed at his statement before I took another drink of the wine in my hand, glancing at him from beneath my lashes and violet eyes flashing slightly before I set the cup aside. "I'd say she has good taste in that case," I mused, my smile becoming just a bit more impish and charming and my head cocking to the side just slightly so I could fully meet his gaze. "I think it would be a pretty sight."

I laughed softly as he looke dup at me, peering through lashes with eyes that I only noticed now were the most interesting colour - not grey as I had once thought - but a lovely violet. "Mhmm, beautiful indeed, though it could end up a little messy with all the wine bottles about," I teased, glancing around before my gaze came back to rest on Bayard's face. "Of course, if we were to end up without our breeches, it would have to be somewhere we couldn't get caught, discretion and all," I said, tapping the side of my nose with a finger as I leaned forward on the bar with my elbows.

"I'm sure there are places like that here and there," I teased in a low tone as I took another sip of my wine, a smile of impish pleasure moving across my face. The expression on his face was both handsome and enticing and I let my eyes flicker across his features and mimicked his pose but with just a hint of sensuality. He was showing more and more signs of being interested in the unspoken offer I'd made and I was eager to see how far it would go. "I even live at one of them. Anything breakable is kept carefully out of the way."

I smiled, laughing softly as he leaned forward, his body moving like music, fluid, lyrical. My eyes gazed into his as I raised a brow.
"So I suppose the question of 'my place or yours' has been dispensed with easily enough," I teased, my eyes dropping quickly to his lips before rising back to his violet eyes.

"It's generally an easy enough question for me in most cases anyway," I replied in a tone of low jest, watching as his lovely eyes glanced down from my own toward my mouth and brushing my tongue teasingly over my lower lip. "But in any case it would be time for other questions. Like 'when'." My eyes flashed with a bit of impish playfulness as I shifted just a little closer and nudged my wineglass out of the way with a fingertip.

I chuckled, my voice low, deep. "Hmm yes, when," I uttered, leaning closer as I licked my own lips, my tongue tip darting over the smooth skin, stained slightly with the wine. "Like... now? Unless you've something else to tend to that's more... important, fun, intriguing." I leaned closer with each word until I was just a fingers width away from him, our nose tips almost touching. The scent of wine was on both of our breaths, the same wine, the same scent, almost, sweet and strong and fruity.

"You must be kidding, more important, fun or intriguing than you?" I teased in a low tone as he moved closer, the scent of the wine, his skin and his breath an intoxicating mix even without having much of any alcohol in my system. My eyes stayed on Baltazar's for a moment before I lightly brushed my tongue over his lower lip to taste it, the sharp tang of his mouth sending a thrill of desire through my body. A moment later I pulled my face back to where it had been before, leaving him to close the distance again if he wished. "My schedule is completely clear and now is always better than later."

I chuckled lowly, softly, our faces so close together, and the darting caress of his tongue so enticing. I leaned forward, though it was just as he pulled back some, and I had to chuckle.
"Yes, soon, like perhaps now," I murmured, leaning over the bar to press my lips to his. I kissed him, gently, tasting his mouth, the wine was there, but then there was the taste of his flesh, holding its own flavour that oddly enough complemented the wine. I pulled back shortly, aware of teh rules, now, of the Night Court, and knowing what needed to be done.
"To Eglantine?" I murmured,a brow raised and my eyes heavy lidded with desire.

The kiss he finally gave me was sweet and light but there was some sensuality to it and I made a soft sound of pleasure against his lips before he pulled back, my eyes smoldering slightly with my own desires and a charming grin coming across my face. "I think that's a fantastic idea," I said in a low tone, pulling back just slightly and taking another drink of wine as I watched his features with some pleasure. "Shall I keep you entertained while you close up shop?" There was a slight tease there and I let him hear it in my tone.

He did not pull away, and intead kissed me back, which settled any nerves that I had had. We were both ripe for the picking, and I nodded, laughing.
"Oh yes, please do. If I recall anything from my opening fete, you were very entertaining," I teased back, chuckling again as I picked up the damp towel to wipe off the bar, taking both of our glasses off the coutnertop with my free hand.

"I'm glad to hear that I managed to make such a good impression on you," I said with another playful bat of my lashes as I rose and gave a slight bow. "What kind of performance should it be? I'd hate to distract you too much from your work." After all, that would only make the closing of the shop take longer and that didn't suit me at all, especially with the taste of his lips still on mine.

"Well," I murmured as my arm did a long sweep, wiping the counter top, "I know you are a tumbler, but I fear I would not give your performance all the attention it would need. What other talents are you gifted with?" I asked, my gaze leveling on him as my lips took on a teasing curve.

The smile he gave me put to mind some very interesting talents that I would have no problem displaying and I gave him an impish grin in reply, running my fingers back through my short curls rakishly. "Oh, there's more than a few, but I fear if I tried to show some of them I'd only get in your way," I replied with a wink. "Then the cleaning would take longer and that would be a shame."

"And I would hate to opse a distraction that could make you tumble and create an even bigger mess for me to clean," I teased. "So perhaps something a ittle less onthe grand scale." i continued to clean, picking up glasses that had been used and putting them in a steel bin I had.

"Anything for a handsome lord," I replied with a flourishing bow, my eyes flashing with both desire and impish pleasure as I thought for a moment. Something small, but flashy, because I was always a little flashy when I performed and I liked the attention. Pulling out two silver coins with one hand I juggled them between my fingers, letting the light of the place catch in them as they shifted. "Too subtle?"

I looked up at him as he pulled two coins out and moved them over his knuckles and between his fingers. "Interesting but I know you're capable of much much more," I said with a knowing smile as I continued to wipe up the bar and move to the few sweets and appetizers in the case to gather them up to be placed in the backroom.

"I am capable of more, but I don't want to distract you too heavily either," I said in a teasing tone, batting my lashes and putting the coins away before bending backward to walk on my hands for a few steps before righting myself again. "And I'd hate to bump into something precious and ruin the mood."

I laughed as he continued to perform, all the qhile speaking non-challantly, not breaking a sweat or losing his breath, even as he -literally- bent over backwafrds for me. I shook my head again, chuckling.
"Ahh Bayard. You know you remind me muh of a sprite. Always up to shananigans," I mused, finishing with the counter. "I am almost done anyways, just need to bring these glasses to the back and we can head out under the cloak of night," I said with a flourish, picking up th ebin and toting it easily to the back room where I et it down and reappeared. I walked around the side of the bar. "Whatever is left can be done in the morning, truly, I've worked hard this week so now I think it is high time for a bit of play."
