Name: Ciarán (KEER ahn) Ringe
Age: 20
Gender: Male
Height: 6’ 2”
Race: d’Angeline (Eisande)
Home Province: Eisande
Appearance: Shaggy and seemingly unkempt hair of a brown that tends towards red or black depending on the light frames Ciarán’s perfect features. Beautiful even for a d’Angeline, his stormy grey eyes and sensuous mouth have enraptured artists and lovers alike. Ciarán’s body is muscled and toned, though not from any particular effort on his part.
History: When his mother named him Ciarán, an Alban name meaning ‘little dark one’, it was due to this dark coloring in what was otherwise a fair-haired family. She had no way to know then how fitting the name would be to his character and soul.
Ciarán’s mother, Moran, is a linguistics teacher at a college in Eisande where her family has been from for as far back as anyone can trace. His father, Marquis Andrew Ringe, is a jewelry designer of some renowned and has spent his life traveling from his home in Eisande to the City of Elua for business. It was on one such trip that Andrew met Moran, who was traveling home after a time teaching at the City University. They began talking and found they had much in common. Friendship turned to courting and that into love. The pair was married two years after meeting. A family came in time with a total of five children, Ciarán being the youngest.
From birth Ciarán was different from his siblings, quiet and watchful and hardly ever crying. His parents took him to a healer to make sure everything was well with his hearing and mind, and were assured that all was fine; he was just a thoughtful child. After that Moran would smile and joke that Ciarán was a changeling, placed by the fairies, and that was why he was so dark and quiet. The joking and teasing stopped though as Ciarán grew older and his cruelty began to manifest. What should have been normal siblings tricks took on a new level with Ciarán and often led to actual harm to his brothers and sisters. It was not limited to family though as Ciarán was willing to hurt anyone he came in contact with. Moran and Andrew did what they could to try and curb his actions, but it was to no avail as it only made Ciarán look for more clever and untraceable means to do wrong. When Ciarán turned twelve, he was sent to foster with Moran’s brother, a large and somewhat harsh man who was willing to take Ciarán in with hopes of straightening him out. The fostering lasted only two years. Though it could never be pinned on him directly everyone knew the fire that burned down the barn and caused his uncle to break an arm and leg while trying to save the animals was Ciarán’s doing. So home he went and his family began to live in a constant level of fear at being his next target. Maturity of age brought maturity to Ciarán’s cruelty as well, and he began to relish in mental and emotional torture as much as physical. When he reached his legal maturity he was given access to a trust that would allow him to travel wherever he wanted, something encouraged by his parents. As with most sociopaths, Ciarán is very charming and those who have never become the target of his cruelty think him wonderful and have trouble believing the stories of his deeds.
Slowly he’s made his way towards the City of Elua, stopping to experience everything possible along the way. There is nothing too depraved or wicked for Ciarán’s taste and he wants to know it all.
