Name: Ryahn Desbois
Age: 30
Gender: male
Height: 5'11"
Weight: 172
Race: D’Angeline/Skaldic (Azza)
Home province: Azzalle
Appearance: Ryahn has a rather stocky build, despite his height, which isn't as tall as some of his friends. With skin that has darkened a bit from spending most of his time outdoors, and hair that had been lightened to a medium golden brown by the sun, Ryahn is a bit rough cut, but very appealing to the country misses. He lives in a cottage on the edge of a small section of the forrest that goes all the way to the Straight. He has numerous small scars on the backs of his hands from a life of hard work, most of which consists of carpentry and other woodwork. His coloring, as mentioned before, much resembles the wood he likes to work with, including his eyes, which are a rich hazel color. He's not as delicate as some of his friends who are of pure D'Angeline lineage, thanks to his long absent father, who was a Skaldic outcast.
Personality: Ryahn is generally a cheery sort, laid back and friendly with a slow to ignite temper. He can be a very loyal friend, and when he wields his axe, one could see why he wouldn't be a man to drive to anger.
History: The son of a Skaldic outcast and a simple country girl, Ryahn has spent all his life in the far reaches of the Terre D'Ange. Born and raised in the same cottage he still inhabits, he was given the most basic of educations, so he knows how to read and write, though he usually leaves that to his mother, Aimée.
His mother, who was the tender age of 17 when she gave birth to him, had led a very sheltered life, and was taken in by the silver smooth tongue of the stranger who approached her so long ago. That same stranger, who was to be Ryahn's father, disappeared after only a few weeks, taking with him the heart of the girl he'd seduced with promises of forever. Aimée, who had foolishly believed his promises to marry her, had lighted a candle and prayed to Eiseth for a child. When she found out she was to be a mother, her shame was overwhelming, so she left home, setting up in an abandoned cottage about 10 miles from her parents. It wasn't until Ryahn was about 2 years old that she got up the courage to return to her parents, taking Ryahn with her so they could see their grandson.
Her parents were overjoyed to have their daughter back, of course, and for that reason, they listened while she told her story. Aimée's mother, being like most mothers, took Ryahn in with no reservations. Ryahn's grandfather, on the other hand, was welcoming, but held himself back somewhat from his grandson. It would take another year for Ryahn to win the good graces of the stiffly proud man.
20 some years later, both of Ryahn's grandparents have passed on, but he still lives in the cottage he's lived in since he was born.
