Character Played By (the person in your avatar): Saf
Name: Felix de Thoire
Age: 30
Race (Lineage Origin): D'Angeline, unknown/low-born lineage
Gender: Male
Height: 5'11"
Home Province/Country: L'Agnace, City of Elua
Appearance (1-2 Paragraphs):
Felix has a single charactaristic which sets him apart from most: his right arm is missing below the elbow. Other than this, he is a fine example of lean strength; his long limbs are corded with muscle, his reflexes honed to quickness, his steel-gray gaze often unintentionally too severe. When relaxed, however, his classically D'Angeline features are pleasing to the eye.
During his service in the military he wore his light brown hair cropped short; after one unsheared year in the peerage, it now nearly reaches the middle of his back. He keeps it in a silken queue.
Personality (1-2 Paragraphs):
Rationality, cleverness, and stubborn determination rule Felix's demeanor. He is usually very methodical in how he solves problems or completes tasks, and though he rarely has major goals for himself, once they are formed he is not easily swayed from pursuing them. Ambitious as a soldier, that characteristic all but left him when his life was turned upside down and he became a peer.
In casual social situations, he tends to be awkward, unsure what to do or discuss if there is no task directly at hand. However, by nature he has a sharp, sardonic streak and a healthy sense of humor. As he becomes more comfortable in the peerage, this will likely become more prominent.
History (At least 2 detailed Paragraphs):
Born in the City of Elua to an unshrewd merchant and his wife, Felix's earliest memories are of borderline poverty. As a thirdborn son, he had neither the pleasure nor the burden of inheriting his father's business, and instead entered military service, policing L'Agnace and defending the City of Elua from crime and invasion.
His level-headed dedication earned him promotions; at the age of 23 he was given his first command. At 28, he led a clever defense against a large group of bandits outside the City and lost half of his right arm in the skirmish. Unable to fight with such an injury, he was forced to retire, but not without compensation; the title of Chevalier and a goodly amount of money were granted to him in thanks for his service. Felix made two major purchases with this sum: a small home in the East Borough of the City of Elua, and an orchard in L'Agnace to provide him with income. He spends most of his time in the City of his birth.
In his year as a minor lord, he has been rather reclusive. A secret love of poetry, hidden for years by the soldier, has blossomed into a natural inclination to scholarship in the Chevalier. He has acquired a respectable library on a wide variety of subjects and learned to write legibly left-handed.
His innate desire to learn sparked some curiosity within him as to his lineage: so far as he knew, no one in his family had hailed from Siovale or claimed to be a scion of Shemhazai. Unfortunately, as he has lost contact with his parents and brothers, any question regarding his heritage must needs go unanswered.
More comfortable with his position in life, as well as working around his missing limb, Felix is now feeling a little less awkward and a little more curious about the world.
