Personality
Titus has a bit of an obsessive personality, he’s very much a dreamer and a romantic, though he does all he can to hide this side of him. On the outside he is always the picture of perfection, but usually on the inside he’s an emotional mess. When he’s alone he tends to be brooding and dark, asking the dark questions of why, why he’s here, why he was born to who he was born to, why he thinks and feels what he does. It makes him flighty occasionally, and often he spends his days thinking and pondering these big questions, unsatisfied with simply being or doing.
Within the company of others Titus is the perfect gentleman and courtier as he has always been raised. He believes in manners and doing right, even if it means some sort of aggressive act. But don’t think that he’s the type to cause a fight for he is far more a lover then a fighter. Occasionally when Titus is feeling vulnerable or defensive he can be cruel in a casual sort of way. He has that L’Envers power of manipulation and is comfortable saying and doing the right things in order to get what he wants or need.
Titus has one dark secret then only few know, he is unable to feel any sort of pain or pleasure and in fact his skin is often more numb then anything. No chirurgeon has ever been able to figure out what is wrong with him, because of that it was kept a secret very early on so that it might not be used against him.
History
Titus’ story really begins with his grandfather, it was because of him that Louvel L’Envers managed to snag one of the lesser royal family members of Cythera. Jacques L’Envers was an ambitious man even from a young age and when he was only 18 years old he had his own business in trade. At twenty he decided to set out on his own and began to travel to build his business. In his thirties he met and married a woman in he met in Kriti (a women of D’Angeline origin) and had his first child. It was when Louvel was only five that they moved to Cythera when Jacques learned of the money to be made in an under developed trade federation in search of investors with capital. He set himself up with those of rising status as a profitable and wise business man and before long he was more then wealthy. Louvel was likely just as ambitious as his father and always sought to please Jacques in anyway he could. So when he was only sixteen he joined the Cytherian Royal army and spent four years there proving his worth. By doing so he caught the eye of Chara Anatolia, the Kings favourite niece. In time, and due to Louvel’s good standing, the King granted them a marriage and Jacques traded in his business acumen for the acumen of politics.
Louvel and Chara married fairly young and by the time the pair was 24 and 21 respectively they already had two children; first their son Titus and their daughter Olympia no less then a year later. They came to have more children later, but due to their proximity in age, it was Olympia that Titus is and was closest to. The children were raised with a mix of life styles; they were raised like members of the royal family and spent much time with their royal kin learning etiquette, history, languages and even diplomacy. On the other hand Chara was a home spun girl who wished to be more hands on then some of her more spoiled siblings and cousins, and prided herself on teaching the children to be grateful and appreciative of the things they possessed.
In their younger years Titus and Olympia traveled a far amount with their parents and Louvel became a sort of unofficial ambassador to Cythera. More often then not though they traveled between Terre d’Ange and home. Knowing it was just as important then their Cytherian history, Titus’ parents wanted them to know their D’Angeline kin. Often they would stay the summers traveling about Namarre visiting various cousins, aunts, uncles and siblings but not often would they return to the same estate the following year. This gave Titus a strange sense of feeling incomplete; though he had regular letters passed between him and his kin, he never got to spend much time in one place getting to know people in more depth.
Perhaps it is this fact that keeps him traveling as well. After finishing school at seventeen, Titus attempted to do as his father did and join the royal army. It lasted almost a year and a half before Titus grew board of the service and proclaimed his desire to travel. At nineteen he set out and began to travel through the little pockets of his part of the world. Bit by bit he traveled further and further finally finding himself standing at the boarders of Terre d’Ange. Titus agreed that it wasn’t a coincidence that he was there and with a final letter to his parents to send for his things, he’s decided to attempt to settle in one place.
*Note: Though Titus is a member of the royal family in Cythera, he has no real title relaying to the royals. At court he is know as “His Royal Highness” or “His Grace”. Louvel L’Envers does hold a Barony in Namarre but the title is not recognized in Cythera.
