Royal de Etalon
Age: 27
Race: d'Angeline
Rank: Captain, d'Angeline military.
Gender: Male
Played by: Dan Balan
Appearance: Royal’s handsome face practically screams wry charm and a subtle hardness. When he is not at work, there is a look of inner calmness in the nearly black pools that are his eyes, and when he is at work or in the middle of battle or planning an attack, there is an intense concentration that gives these eyes and face a sharpness that would make almost anyone think twice. Royal is an average height for a male, no taller than 5’10”, with a long, lean body, toned from his years of practice with the sword and exercises to stay limber and ready to move. His constantly messy, short dark sable hair, though not in fashion, was best for battle, it gave one less hand up to an opponent in a hand-to-hand fight.
Personality: Royal has two very different sides to his personality. When at work he is focused and hell bent on leading all those under him with exacting efficiency, using flawless tactics, and a fearless determination. This is at odds with how he comes across when out of uniform and away from the barracks. On his time off, he is never concerned with the little things, more often than not, he fails to even pick up or doing simple paperwork, some things he tends to leave to Reza. He appears as a womanizer, seeing as he is always in the company of a beautiful woman, typically many at one time. Though, he is not one to boast of female conquests.
History: Born the only child to a father that bred horses and a mother who looked after the house in the mountains of Siovale. His childhood was good. A loving father that taught him to ride before he could walk, a mother that made sure he knew he was loved. Life was idyllic, running the hills and mountain trails, being a kid. What he never knew, the thing his parents only talked about while they lay in bed at night after Royal was peacefully asleep, was that they wanted better for him. He deserved more. It was hard for his mother to see him just running wild, though his laughter made her happy. Her own Mother, Royal’s grandmother, was a Shahrizai, which made his mother a by-blow. She might have been able to inherit some land when her mother passed, but she was in love and her new husband wanted nothing to do with that part of her family. So they moved to his home and never told Royal of his family. Instead of sending him to be fostered in the city, they talked with Baron Soigneux about it. It was decided that Royal would go at the age of 12. It was a sad day for them all, but it was best. His parents knew he could be something more than a horse breeder, and this was in their way, they best gift they could give him. A chance to live life.
Schooled by Baron Soigneux beginning at the age of 12 years, Royal was always a faithful student. He could always be found tucked in the library when not on the field practicing his fencing and hand to hand combat. Though he was good at studying and understanding the old war annals, he always saw beyond the boundaries of the land, and combat, and wished he had the resources to make a change. On the one occasion he brought it up to Master Soigneux, his thoughts and ideal ‘s were quickly discounted as a foolish notion and he was almost dismissed for having such a 'silly ideology'. Learning from that horrid occasion, he made sure to kept his mouth quiet from then on. On his master's death he received everything, the lands, house, money, and title. After talking with the Baron's estranged daughter, he decided to follow his own dream, so he sold the lands and enlisted as an officer. Thanks to his never ending thirst for learning, he made a very good career for himself and gained respect, and on finding out Reza had done the same he had her transferred to his outfit so he could watch out for her.
