Name: Jean Langois
Age: 32
Height: 6'4
Gender: Male
Race: D'Angeline (Believed to be Kusheline/Unknown)
Home Province: Azzalle
Appearance: Jean is handsome in a sort of awkward fashion. He's tall at 6'4 and though lean and muscular, his lithe body is almost lanky looking when he's naked. Dressed, Jean's clean cut form creates a handsome frame. His eyes are an almost mystic blue, a dark ring edging holds in a sky blue crystalline center. A important feature is his hands, they are large with long slender fingers, which are a blessing to his musical background. Finishing off his calm beauty is his chestnut brown hair that's kept short and some what shaggy.
History: If only one could answer the question of who is Jean Langois, a child abandon at a young age. His story is a sad one, which is probably the reason that his adoptive mother took him in.
Jean's story began at the age of 4 when one summer, in the wilds of Kusheth, Jean was found by a hunting party. Some how he had stumbled onto the a local lord's private property, from where became only a speculation by those in the area. Not knowing where the boy had come from, the lord tired to find the boy a home.
It was believed that Jean came from a border House in Siovale. Three months previous to Jean being found, there was reportedly a fire at a small estate. Some how all members of the house and staff were discovered dead by suffocation or fire. Everyone assumed then that he was the son of one of the house staff, some how making it out alive. The Kusheline lord felt bad for the boy but he wasn't going to take him in, so he contacted his sister whom was married to the Azzallese Vicomte, Henri Langois.
Rochette Langois, a Kusheline through and through, her entire life had been one plot after another, but she had been baron for many years after marrying Henri and they were into there late twenties with no child. It was this and the fact that after many years the pity for her inability to bare a child was wanning. With that in mind Rochette knew that other Courtiers would hear the story of how she took in the orphaned boy, and be given a whole new cache of sympathy. So it was then that Jean became a member of House Langois.
At first it was Rochette that doted over her new son, cleaning him, primping him and showing him off to her friends. This lasted for almost a half a year before she lost interest in the head strong but awkwardly quiet Jean. For three years Jean kept to himself, his new mother shuffling him off to one tutor or another. Which did him well as he always thrived in anything he did, it lent credence to the belief he was a child of Siovalese descent. Music, combat, horse back riding, sailing and languages, Jean did very well at whatever he put his mind to, especially music. Jean became utterly proficient at multiple instruments including the harp, and the flute. It became his favourite of all his lessons and he would often be found playing his lap harp on his own under a tree. When Jean was eight the Vicomte had noticed the young boy sword fighting one of the other boy's from the estate's staff. It struck a cord in the aging man and he soon took a keen interest in his would be son. Over the next six years Henri and Jean began to grow a strong bond and friendship, Henri began to feel as though Jean was his real son and Jean began to find a father in Henri. It was the spring of Jean's fourteenth year that life changed for House Langois. After years of being unable to conceive Rochette informed her husband that she was with child.
Henri was excited...at first.
The pregnancy went as normal as possible and in nine months Rochette gave birth to a little girl, Henrietta.
Though Jean had been some what abandoned by his mother, Henri was a good enough man that no matter how much he loved his little girl, he always saw Jean as his first born.
Rochette on the other hand didn't, she always tried her best to put Henrietta first above and beyond Jean, something that wore on Jean at a young age but he wore well as he got older. Despite all Rochette did to Jean, and despite the fact that Henrietta was treated as though royalty, he always treated his adoptive mother and sister with love.
Again, Henri loved his daughter greatly, but when one of his men came to him with a disturbing story things started to change.
It was told to Henri, by a worthy voice, that Rochette had feared the closeness of her husband and their adopted son. The man told Henri that one evening Rochette had searched out Henri's will, and discovered the information that should become pregnant by her 40th natal that their natural child would inherit instead of Jean. Rochette believed it was Henri's fault they couldn't conceive, so she went looking for a man similar to her husband and bed him repeatedly.
Henri knew is wife was more then capable of this, after all their union had been an arranged one and there was thick Kusheline venom in her veins. In secret Henri changed his will making Jean their official son and making him his heir not to be contested by anyone.
Rochette found out, of course, and House Langois was divided. Jean, again, took this in stride and spent most of his time keeping to himself and practicing his music.
Of all the relationships that made Jean who he was, came from his sister Henrietta. From a young age, Jean knew that Rochette was conditioning her young daughter, and after she found out that Henrietta would not receive anything once Henri was gone, she sent Henrietta after Jean to seduce him. Since Jean was twenty eight Henrietta has showed a keen interest in bedding him and making an arrangement of marriage. Jean, a true soul never gave in though there were many times over the last few years where he almost gave in, for he'd be lying if he didn't feel a sexual connection to Henrietta. Only strong resolve has stopped him after her numerous attempts.
Jean has been to the University of Tiberium as a young man, his only reprieve from his family's antics, but spent all his time afterwards living with his family due to his father's failing health. Two years ago Jean spent the whole year traveling between Siovale, Kusheth and Azzalle searching out any information about his past. Last year Henri fell into a deep sleep, a coma brought on by unknown reason, and Jean felt on shaky grounds with his remaining family. The choice came down that Jean would journey to the City of Elua for two reasons. One, he's in search of his family and two he has decided to get closer to court since the title of Vicomte was warily handed down to him. Jean has other thoughts and wants to be within the City, other things that he keeps close to the chest.
