I had been wo0rking basically non-stop since midwinter, since before that really, creating furniture, knick-knacks, and working harder than I ever had before, so much so that I needed to take a break, and so did. Dorvalle was still at home, though he did some in once in a while to check the progres of his shoppe, and each time he was happy, though each time he seemed to worsen in his condition. I worried about him. Ryahn has been working with me as well, his craft was superb, and I knew that leavig the shoppe for the day to his tending would be fine.
I stepped out, the light outside dazzling me for a moment, the cool air, making me shiver. I had spent so much time indoors and so little time out in teh daylight that I had almost forgotten how ebautiful the winter could be with the sun making the light snow that covered the cobbled street shimmer. I had always come in before daylight had risen and left after it had said its final good bye and gave way to the moonlight. I smiled, almost laughed with merriment at the day, taking in large ulping breaths that puffed out my chest and relaxed me wtihin, even as it made em want to seek out some sort of adventure.
I shivered again, and drew my heavy cloke about me and started out walkig down the lane, ehading across the cobbled street that went in either direction before Dorvalle's.

I wasn’t working today, so I took the opportunity to do a little more exploring. The weather was lovely, just cold enough for me to notice it really. It made me smile to see the city folk running around bundled up; they would never survive a winter at home.
I turned down a street I hadn’t been on before and looked around at what there might be to see. I noticed a playbill posted on the wall for a performance at the city playhouse and stepped closer to read the details, wondering what it would be like to see a play.

Once I had crossed the street, I turned, facing the store front, the snow glistened, and once my eyes had adjusted to the harsh glare, I could see just how breathtaking it was in the sunlight.
"Absolutely stunning," I murmured to myself with a smile as I looked about me.

A voice near me made me jump. I had not paid attention and didn’t even see him approach. I took a breath and tried to settle myself, my heart racing.
I looked around, trying to see what he was admiring, and all I could come up with was the day itself. It was lovely in truth and I smiled.

I lokoed about and noticed a girl standing right beside me, who I had not noticed before. She must have heard me as she looked around, trying to spy what it was I was talking about.
"Lovely day, isn't it?" I said with a chuckle. "I suppose not everyone thinks that a nice crisp day like this, bright and sparkling, is that great a day, but the brilliance of it is almost blinding... literally and figuritively."

“It’s beautiful,” I agreed. “Everything looks like it’s covered in spun sugar.”

I had to laugh. That was a perfect depiction.
"You know, yo are absolutely right. I was thinking it looked like crushed diamonds, ground down so fine they were like a pwder," I said, grinning as I looked at her. "But spun sugar really is perfect," I lifted my boot, kicking a bit of teh snow and watchign it scintillate in the morning light.
"Luc Bradamante," I said, turning to her with a smile and bowing at the waist.

He grinned and I found myself blushing softly.
"Marie Legard,' I replied, curtseying. "it is nice to meet you Luc.'

I smiled, noticing the blush on her cheeks. It seemed many of the women I met in the City blushed. It was an endearing trait. "Pleased to meet you, Marie. Where do you hail from?"

“Camlach, but I am staying in the City now,” I answered. “Still new enough to be finding new places to explore though. Yourself?”

"Namarre," I said with a grin. "I have been here long enough to know where most everything is, but still new enough to find some things fascinating. I work just over there," I said, pointing at Dorvalle's with a proud grin. "And I have come to the City with my only sister and one of my brothers. I think we may stay here. Will you head back to Camlach after your stay?? Or are you planning on staying in the City forever?"

I was awed by how fast he spoke and just how much information he could get into a breath.
“I am planning on staying,” I answered. “My brothers and I came for the wedding of my third brother. I have found work and am not planning on returning.”

I smiled brightly. "Do you enjoy it?" I asked her, "and do you work there often?"

“I work a few days a week, and yes, I enjoy it very much,” I answered, smiling. “Aramis, my employer, is very gracious and smart. I was very fortunate to find such an employer. DO you enjoy your work?”

I smiled at her response and nodded. "Yes, I love it. It lends very well to my obsession to overwork," I teased with a laugh. "And the owner is a lovely man, though well into his years and a little ill," I said, just a tad sadly.

I grinned warmly, hoping not to make the air an uneasy one.
"Oh I have no doubt he will recover!" I said, cheerily. "But for now I am running the shoppe, which requires more work, and which I actually am enjoying. It makes me appreciate days like this a lot more," I smiled, perhaps a little flirtatiously.

There was something in his smile that made my cheeks warm a little. “It is good that you are both enjoying it and learning to appreciate your free time,” I said, returning his smile. “I really enjoy working. I would like to find more in fact. Until then I am filling my free time trying to learn my way about the city.”

I admired that quality in a woman, the desire to make something of herself instead of just sit around and wait for everything and everyone to come to her. I smiled at her, wondering if my appreciation showed.
"And how have you been fairing with making your way about the City? I hope you haven't had too many misfortunes and many adventure."

He smiled again and I fought against the urge to blush once more. Instead I tried to focus on my answer.
“No real misfortunes yet,” I said with a soft chuckle. “A few adventures, but for the most part really I am beginning to wonder if there is an end to this city at all. Every time I think I know an area, I find two more streets I haven’t even been on.”

I chuckled softly. She was shy but not at the same time, shy enough to blush a pretty pink, but not so shy that she could not speak. It was endearing, even though I had abrely known her for a few minutes.
"It is vast,:" I said, "just wait until the summer. That is when the City comes to life, and it will be as though you had never travelled those streets before when you comapre it to how it is now."

“Oh my,” I said, feeling bewildered at the thought. “I can’t even begin to imagine that. There are more people in the City now than I can really get my mind around.”
I half sighed, half chuckled and shook my head. “I guess I shall have to resign myself to this being a never-ending venture.”

I smiled. "I am sure after some time you will get used to it. It took me some getting used to as well. Besides, if you are constantly venturing, then it will never become boring. I hear that from people who have lived here their whole lives. They say that it bores them because all there is is fetes and dinners, soirees and plays, nothing of true intrigue. Though one can never tell when something interesting comes up and everyone hears about it through the grapevine," I winked, then chuckled. I realised we had been standing there for a while, in the chill air.
"How's about we get a drink and food, my treat, if you are up for it?" I asked her with a casual grin.

It took me a second to realize he’d just invited me to go eat with him between thinking over what he’d just said and the fact that it didn’t happen to me very often.
“Oh, yes,” I said, trying to cover my surprise. “That would be very nice, thank you.”

"Excellent. Lady's choice, of course," I said, offering her a sweeping bow and a playful grin.

I could have giggled at how adorable she was. But instead, I smiled.
"I am not difficult at all and will eat just about anything!" I exclaimed, throwing my hands in the air a little theatrically before letting out a laugh. "But truly, anything will make me content. What do you prefer?"

His smile was becoming a bit distracting and I found myself having to focus to think of any of the places that were close.
“Caisse de Pomme?” I suggested. It was a good mix of variety and reasonable prices since he was paying and I didn’t want to seem ungrateful.
