Karina and I hopped into the carriage and it pulled away, the pair of us in silence. I wasn't sure what to say, to feel, to think. The only think I knew for sure was that Karina was not happy with me. I chewed on my upper lip as I ran my hand through my hair and thought on what to say.
"I'm sorry." I said finally. "I shouldn't have done that to you." It was about all I could really say right now.

"No you shouldn't have," I agreed, my mouth hard. Now that we were away from the wedding celebrations, I allowed myself my anger. "So why did you?"

"I don't know." I said softly as I leaned forward, pressing my elbows to my knees before I pressed my face into my hands and rubbed my fingers over my forehead. "I suppose I thought that they'd see I had changed, that I wasn't the brother I had been. I hoped that they'd give me a break and a chance to redeem myself." I shrugged and sat back before looking at her. "I didn't take you soley for that reason though, I want you to know. I took you because I wanted to spend time with you. But I think in the back of my mind I was killing two birds with one stone." I sighed a looked away, my eyes going forward as a strange defeat whelmed over me.

I shook my head, crossing my arms beneath my breasts. Gods he was naive. "They didn't see a changed man. They saw a man whose phallus had convinced him that the Night Court was a great place. Especially after your introduced me as your 'friend'." I sighed in frustration. "And I would have told you that if you had just talked to me beforehand. There were other ways for that scenario back there to go. You used me Pierre, even if you were telling yourself that you just wanted to spend time with me. I don't appreciate that."

I shook my head, anger boiling over in me as the emotion of the day took hold. I banged on the roof of the carriage and told the driver to stop before I turned to look at Karina. "For some one that knows so little about my family and what I've been through, you seem to have a lot to say." I narrowed my eyes and shook my head before opening the door and jumping out. She wasn't the person I thought she was.
"You're just like them, making judgements, decisions about who I am or who I should be so that you can be happy. You're a fake Karina, you play yourself off as some one that cares and has a loving heart. Unfortunately you're nothing but a cold hearted bitch. I screwed up tonight, completely, and I'm sorry for that. But at least I'm trying not to make myself into the victim... not like you... not like Marie." I slammed the door closed.
"Life is cruel sometimes... but you get over it, you learn to deal with it, you don't just take your pain out on other people." I ran my hand through my hair and laughed bitterly. "Or may be you do, may be thats what people are like." I looked at her through the window. "Good bye Karina." I simply said then turned, walking away at quick pace, heading in the direction of the baracks.

I could have gotten angry, absolutely furious as he threw his temper tantrum. But he was acting so childish that it was easier to just laugh in derision as he stomped away. "You know where to find me when you chose to grow up Pierre," I called after his retreating back. I shook my head, then told the driver to take me home. So much to taking me home, now the cost of the carriage ride was on me. Arse.
