Here's what I've been thinking. It'll be similar to the Unseen Guild in Imriel's Trilogy. Yes, I know the board doesn't cover that trilogy, so there'll be some differences. The Guild yet to be named will just exist within the borders of Terre d'Ange. It'll involve protecting the lands/borders against possible invaders and gather intell, sorta like the CIA or the FBI. The twist is that no character will know if another's in the Guild unless Character A knows what to look for from Character B. An example would be the necklace that Imriel's given by Cyrus in Tiberium. Though some items maybe less obvious than others.

I'll be honest and say I didn't like the Unseen Guild stuff in the Imriel trilogy. However, I kind of like the idea of a secret society that was created to protect Terre d'Ange, and perhaps some of our current characters are members and they've just been completely hiding it until now. (I know Leandre would fit right in with this sort of plot.)
I guess I'm for it, but it would take some organizing to pull it off.

Another government agency I thought of that this Yet-To-Be-Named Guild would N.I.D. It comes from Stargate SG-1 standing for National Intelligence Department. NID

This would be kind of fun. X3 And fit in snugly with the war plot. I know my unsubmitted ex-military guy (what can I say, I'm a procrastinator) would be a great character for this Guild.

I know I've got Julian, my newest character, involved in it. She's got some plans, big plans. Delaunay would be rolling in his grave if he knew what she's plotting.

hmmm... i am torn. it would really work with the war plot and could be really interesting. i think that perhaps a subboard would need to be created for the players to talk about what might happen with characters so no on gets rolled over.

and now that i'm thinking of it, this could spawn a minor/major plot for Julian. She plans for the crown, and Kaden sees this through the Dromonde and contacts the Queen. Basic plot point right now.

Well rules and the like would have to be pounded out about the guild... that might take some time... like Valerie suggested it might be an idea to have a subboard to discuss it.
I think the first step though is to do a poll so that everyone can vote. Once its been decided if its something the majority of the board wants, then we can go from there.
That being said, if people decided they wanted some sort of secret Guild, it wouldn't be run by a player. It would have to be something that staff and management over see to maintain its integrity and order. So a list of rules would have to be developed using a mixture of board member and staff input. Once that was done, then the Guild could be put into use and that could be some time.

Having a subboard for the Guild's fine with me.
I can submit a poll for everyone to vote on it. If the majority of the board votes yes, we can decide on some sort of name.
As for the actual running of the Guild, I think that aside from staff and management running it, a select few of normal members be given access to the running of the Guild. Yes, rules will be developed.

Why would select few normal members need to have access to running the guild?

Let me try and rephrase. The selected members would be the ones who are high up in the Guild.

well again, that would have to be decided after rules are pounded out, and would have to be agreed upon by members who wanted their characters part of the guild.

Yeah. We can worry about who's what in the Guild since there'll be levels.

If the Guild is approved I VERY MUCH want in! Secret societies have been a fascination for me for years! Hell I'd join one IRL if I knew of one that had a "reason" that I wanted to support.
Anyways, Lilith would probably be the best Char for me to throw in... she would probably a bit of a loose cannon though... she would be loyal but I'm sure your idea of a good Guild is not the same as hers, hehe. She would behave unless it seemed that the Guild was being lax. She is a "sacrifice if you must for the greater good... no matter what the sacrifice" type.
