During a time of upheaval in the nation, so soon after the murder of King Ambrose and Queen Triselene, even before the rise of Queen Sabrina, a stranger from a mystical world lands with a prophecy to fulfill. Medousa Asterius, Grand daughter of Pasiphae Asterius the former Kore of Temenos; this dark woman who is Hekateris of the Temenos, Serpent Oracle and Priestess of the House of Minos, bares the vision of a man born of the House of Swan and a Shahrizai. Her prophecy is of a child, a boy, conceived and birthed of two worlds, a child to be raised at the Temple of Temenos under the tutelage of his mother the new Kore. In the winter, just before the coronation of Queen Sabrina, Medousa finds her prophecy in the man Prince Delaunay de la Courcel. Despite all that the Priestess had thought about how to do just the very thing she has set out to do, and find a way to work her way into Delaunay’s bed; the pair find a real potential connection. Medousa is very quickly with child and secret plans are made for their children’s future. But all is not well. In the spring of Year of Queen Sabrina’s reign, Meda is set to give birth, but is called back to Temenos after her mother dies in childbirth, leaving the baby alone. This combined with the stage of Medousa’s pregnancy means that she must stay in Temenos and be separated from Delaunay; he rushes to her side to find not only has she birthed his son early, but he has become a father twice over with a daughter as well. Once again though, their plans are altered as the newly crowned Queen is displeased with Prince Delaunay’s decision to not only have these children, but to hide it as well. Considering the state of parliament regarding foreign blood within the royal line; pressure to secure the bonds of the Great Houses of Terre d’Ange, the Queen arranges a marriage between he and Princess Azabel de Somerville; life goes on, duty and marriage call.
But back in Temenos, all is not entirely well; though Medousa is more then aware that despite her love for Delaunay, that her own political standing would never allow her to marry a foreigner, she turns to raising her children and preparing to be the next Kore. It is only weeks after Prince Delaunay leaves that Medousa has a vision, one most fowl and one that puts her and her children in jeopardy. In her vision she sees a man that wishes to steal her children, and then steal the crown of Terre d’Ange. It isn’t long before she discovers a plot to kill her and have her children adopted into the hands of a political power monger and court executive; he knows their father is Prince Delaunay and that the twins have claim to the D’Angeline throne. Knowing that the fate of not only her life, Kriti and Terre d’Ange, she secretly packs up the children in the night and sends them north to their father; the twin’s only guardians, a pair of soldiers and Medousa’s niece.
Delaunay's marriage had been over for some time and he's trying to put his world back in order. But Del's life takes a strange turn when the strange entourage and his twins, show up on his front step with a letter of urgency and plots against the crown. This is a big turn for Del, who never could have imagined such a thing, but he knows that Medousa would not have sent them had it not been important so he takes in the 3 strangers baring his children and upon suggestion that he keep them, Del hires them onto his staff to him care for the children.
- Plot Ending: Despite the sort of dramatic context to which Delaunay’s children come to him, there currently isn’t a story to be played out with the supposed evil political power monger and court executive mentioned. There may be a chance that it could be played out in the future, but for now its simply a way to explain his children coming to him… So for now the ending would simply be the fact that they live with him permanently.
