I had been more than thrilled, and that feeling had been growing all night long. While we Priestesses at the Temple had no shortage of suitors and supplicant's, we weren't always with a man. I was most attracted to Pierre. What woman in her right mind wouldn't be, and as the Mid-winter fete ended, I hoped to talk him into going back to the temple with me, and spending what was left of the night there.

"So," I said with a smile to Aimee as we began to depart the palace. "That was quite the event wasn't it." I chuckled. "I don't think I've ever seen anything like it; I'm glad we came." We walked slowly out of the Great Hall and down to the exit where other couples where headed. I couldn't help but wonder about what would be coming next; I couldn't invite her to my place, I didn't have a place, not really. I had a bunk, but I certainly wasn't going to bring her to that mess, she was a Priestess of Eisheth after all.

I was actually half glad that the fete was over, and as we waited to leave the Palace, I clung to Pierre's hand. I had to lean close to his ear, to be heard above the other voices, "Yes, it was a most enchanting night." I hesitated for only a moment, then smiled, "Would you like to go back to the Temple with me? I would be most... pleased... if you would join me there."

I smiled happily to her as she held onto me. "Yes, I'd enjoy that very much thank you." I said softly as we walked.

I was glad of his affirmative answer. It had been a month or more since I'd last been with anybody. I paused for a moment, tugging on his hand once we were out of the way of the main stream of pedestrians, and pulled him into a kiss.

I wasn't expecting it, so when she kissed me, it took me a moment to register what was happening; once I had though, I let myself fall into her kiss and kissed her back, though tentatively as it wasn't my style to be overly intimate in public.

I broke the kiss after a moment, then leaned away from him and smiled. It was easy enough to read his reluctance, but I didn't think it was because of me. I began to walk again, still holding his hand, "The Temple isn't far, we can get there within 10 minutes."

"Excellent." I replied as we began to walk again. The kiss had thrown me off a bit and now I was finding ever conversation I could think to start seemed awkward.

I didn't want him to feel awkward, so I took his hand and led the way back to the Sanctuary, trying not to appear in too big a hurry. It wouldn't be seemly for a priestess to run, just so she could get the man she was attracted to into her bed. It was for that reason alone that I was able to keep my pace steady.

As we walked I felt as though I should say something; I wondered if I had embarrassed her so I hoped that continuing our conversation would help. "I hope that it goes without saying that you had fun tonight?" I asked with a smile.

I paused, glancing over at him with a smile and a nod. "Of course I did. What more could I ask for in a night of revelry? Dancing, Joie, a handsome escort. The Sun Prince and the Winter Queen were as spectacular as always. And now I'm returning to my home with that very same handsome man. Oh yes, I definitely had fun." I gave his a questioning look, "And I hope you did, too?"

I chuckled softly; she was so open about taking me back to her room that I felt more and more like a country boy every moment. "I did have a good time." I replied and swallowed a little. "I wasn't sure if I'd make it through the dancing without stepping on your toes, but I'm happy that I managed to avoid it."

I smiled, glad he was happy. I enoyed making people happy. Reaching up to pat his cheek, I winked, "You did a very good job of it. Better than I think you know."
We were close enough to the Sanctuary now that I could see it, and that meant we were practically alone. I stopped walking again, stood up on tip-toe, and kissed him, as I had earlier.

I smiled gently, but then she stopped again and kissed me once more; Gods the woman in this city where certainly unabashed at making the first move. I kissed her back though this time, my hands coming to rest on her waist, but tentatively. By now I could tell that I wasn't like the other men in the city; most definitely I thought Aimee was beautiful, and she was kind and sweet, but I had been raised more conservatively then that, and more to the point I wasn't sure I was the type to jump into bed with any girl that asked. Still, it was nice so I decided to try to let my mind stop running and continued to kiss her gently.

Once again, I sensed a hesitation about him, almost as if he were holding some part of himself back. His kiss was sweet, and soft, and after I thought about it for a moment, I pieced together some bits and pieces he'd told me about himself, and realised what the problem may be.
I pulled back after several more seconds, ending the kiss. Then I smiled. As much as I enjoyed being in his company, and because I was so attracted to him, I felt that I just had to ask, "Is this really what you want, Pierre?" My voice was soft, a bit hesitant.

When she pulled back I was a little surprised, and even more surprised when she spoke, as though she had read my mind. I could have blushed. "Forgive me." I said with a little smile as I ran my hand through my hair. "I'm afraid this isn't like me." I added softly. "I... I do want you Aimee, but perhaps not enough." I furrowed my brows and looked at her. "That wasn't what I meant." I continued as I shook my head. "I am not... well, as practiced as some men might be, and I'm afraid I'm not used to the attention either. I'm not the type that can easily bed a woman simply because she's there, I couldn't respect myself for it." I chuckled, looking down as I took up her hand in held between both of mine. "And if I had to be honest," I added as I looked at her. "I... I think I have feelings for another, some one I met when I first came to the city. She's... unattainable I suppose, in a way, but part of me worries that if I gave up on it, then I'd be doing my heart a disservice... I'd be doing Elua a disservice by not following his Blessed Precept." I knit my brows again as I looked at her. "Tell me you're not mad a me, tell me I haven't ruined your evening."

I smiled as I listened to him, though I could feel the expression that I privately referred to as my 'priestess face' , coming over me as I considered his words. I bowed my head as he spoke of possibly loving another, but when I looked back up, my expression was soft, and I nodded. "Honesty is always welcome, my lord. And I wouldn't ask you to go against yourself in such a way." I smiled again, and shook my head. "No, the evening isn't ruined. Far from it. I had a wonderful time, dancing with you in the palace." I laughed a little, "But now that enchanted time is over, and reality has returned."

I smiled gently then leaned forward and pressed my lips to her cheek, kissing her softly. "I had a good time as well, you're a wonderful young woman." I reached up and tucked a lock of hair behind her ear. "I'm sure theres some wonderful man out there just waiting for you."

I smiled at his tender actions, then I pulled back and nodded. A short curtsy, and I backed away, toward the Temple. "Thank you, my lord. I hope we can talk again soon."
