Name: Nikolai Ivanivich Romanov - Tsar of Ruskovia
Age: 47
Race: Ruskovian
Gender: Male
Appearance: Standing six foot four and seemingly built like a bear, Nikolai is an imposing figure. His dark blue eyes hold none of the softer emotions but nearly almost hold a quick and calculating gaze. Blonde as a child, his hair darkened with age before turning snowy as he began to bald. Even at his age and with flesh liberally marked with scars from countless vicious battles, he has not lost a bit of his strength and his mind is as sharp as ever.
History: Nikolai was the oldest of twelve siblings and even as a child he ruled everything he could. His brutal and commanding nature pleased his father Alexander and Nikolai was allowed to accompany the warriors on raids and sit in on meetings of state at a very young age. The more he was exposed to such things, the more Nikolai’s desire to rule his nation grew. He chaffed at the limitations of being heir and not Tsar, he thought his father too conservative in his strategies for Ruskovia’s growth. A week after Nikolai gained his majority, Alexander was found dead in his bed. The story released to the nation was a seizure of the heart, but it was well known to the Romanovs and those closest to the family that Nikolai had claimed the throne with the same ruthlessness he did everything else. Within a year, Nikolai was married and his wife Ivana was carrying their first child.
Now, twenty-eight years after first taking his place on the throne, Nikolai is still ruling with the same force. He and Ivana have seven children Vladimir, Alexei, Olga, Svetlana, Sergei, Antsalia, and Fydor. Ruskovia has nearly doubled in size during Nikolai’s rule and it is still not enough in Nikolai’s mind. He has kept his heir Vladimir close to him, instilling in him the same desires for the nation. Yet, remembering his own ascension to the throne, he doesn’t trust Vladimir in the least, another reason he tries to keep Vladimir close and under his watchful eye. The rest of his children he sees as political tools to expand Ruskovia’s place in the world. He will do whatever he can to raise his nation as high as possible before his own death arrives.
