Hello Everyone, Old and New!!!
So, first off let me start by talking about our Mass PM system; as most of you may have noticed, there has been a great decrease in these. This is because we felt that we were perhaps overwhelming some of your inboxes; since most of you have more then one character… having SO many PM’s over such a short period was just ridiculous, and we know, we felt the same way. Since then we’ve been relying mostly on the weekly “Heralds” in order to keep people up to date with on going information. This will continue and anything that is important will be found here. To add to that, there is now a board in Parliament entitled “The Council of 80”; this board is for player issues. If you have an issue you want to publicly bring up about the board, changes you would like to see, or even In Character issues having to do with titles, or land, etc, you should post it here. It will also exist as a way to ask questions. Players will be free to ask and answer questions that are posted here, but be careful, if a member of staff thinks your question or answer is inappropriate, it can and/or will be removed, potentially without notice.
Since we have officially entered into spring, I think it’s only appropriate that the board begin a bit of spring cleaning of its own. As of today the board will begin a series of changes to its make up; these things will vary and include deleting some of the existing board (which will be condensed with other boards), the addition of new boards within the General category, and the addition of a “Chat Box”. For those of you that may not know what a chat box is, its basically a public Instant Message area located on the main page of the board in which players can directly communicate with other online players, without sending them Private Messages. For the time being, this will only be a trial run and will be subject to rules (no inappropriate swearing, no overly lewd behaviour, no fighting etc), and people should be aware that what ever you say in chat box can be seen by others; so make sure you don’t say something stupid you’ll regret.
This is all general maintenance that will occur over an extended period; there is no specific time line but it could potentially be spread over the next month or more. So don’t be afraid or surprised if you log on one day and things have changed. That being said, we also hope to see some comments, or suggestions within the Council of 80 board, as to things you like or do not like about the changes. If you do make any comments, we’ll be happy to read them and hopefully incorporate some of them, but as we can’t make everyone happy, not all suggestions will be taken into account; we apologize in advance for this.
In addition to all these changes, there will also be an increase in staff; at the moment we are currently looking to add 3 new members to the board. These new staff members will be responsible for monitoring threads, answering questions from new players (and directing them to management), as well as being general good ambassadors to new and old players. We have a few people in mind for who we want as staff, and we will be contacting them personally to discuss whether or not they wish to take up the position. That being said, if you think you would like to be included in that, please reply to this PM (directly to me; Kerri), to notify me that you would be interested in a position. There will be certain criteria that have to be met before some one is made staff, so just because you would like to be considered doesn’t mean it will happen; we just can’t have everyone as staff, once again we appologize in advance.
