Name: Shiloh Shahrizai de Garnier
Age: 35
Height: 6’0”
Province: Siovale
Race: d’Angeline
Appearance:
Shiloh is a rugged young man, with hard set features and a complete serious air about him, one that demands respect and attention. Standing at 6’0” his height already makes him an intimidating figure, but this is only supported by his heavy build. He is broad shoulder and solidly built, an imposing figure that does not hide anything that he may be capable of. However, Shiloh is not one that can be readily seen lifting a hand against another, unless of course, it is on his work table as he does his job. He may be a very serious man, but he does know how to throw a good mock, though he is probably known best for his bluntness. He is not afraid to say whatever is on his mind, regardless of the person’s rank or position, he says what he will and fears not the repercussions. However, that does not mean he is distasteful and says phrases merely to put people down, no, he merely makes observations and in such, hopes that they will better themselves (though he is quite aware that conflict always arises...people can be so touchy). He is not a man who is quick to anger, he is known for his calm and also for his analyzing. If anything else, he knows, just like a viper, when to strike.
History:
Shiloh was born to a family with a decent amount of wealth, his father, a Siovalese man of learning and who practiced as a chirugeon, was one who was highly respected in his practice. His mother, a Shahrizai woman had fallen for him for what she considered his art. She adored his brain, his intelligence above all else, however, from the very beginning, his father had been wrapped around his mother’s finger. His mother had been considered a viper even amongst the Sharizai, her mother and father had been cast out of a fortune they had thought they had because of their constant deceit and greed. However, his mother presented herself as if she came from a highly prestigious family and considering her name, it was not hard to believe especially since no one knew her direct family in the province of Siovale. They heard the name Shahrizai and it was one that instantly demanded respect and attention. His father had a modest estate in Siovale and was gaining reputation as a fine chirugeon when Shiloh’s mother met him. She saw the greatness that he could be and was surely becoming and seduced her way into his life to the point that they got married, however, his mother’s control over his father is evident in many parts of Shiloh’s existence, just starting with his very name.
Though there was no reason to tag the Shahrizai part of his mother’s name onto his own, but his mother had insisted and his father, too entranced by this woman could only comply and the Garnier part of his name was tagged at the end. His mother, busy off at her parties while she lived off of his father’s income caused Shiloh to grow up mostly under his father’s tutelage and he came to be disgusted by the way his father bent under his will. He was never close to his mother as he saw her for what she was, someone who used and abused and tossed away what she would and his father, not being a strong role model to tend to him while he was growing caused Shiloh to grow up relatively independently and mature at such a young age. He learned to tend to himself and never really knew anything such as motherly love and while he distanced himself from his parents, he did learn to analyze and observe. He could see through his mother’s facade and vowed he would never get caught up, tied around someone’s finger and led around on a leash.
Growing up independent meant that he wanted to take care of himself and not live off of his father as soon as he could find himself able. At a young age, he started to learn the ways of a chirugeon from his father. He was ever a dangerous match, having the thirst for knowledge of a Siovalese and yet, with the beating slyness and wit of a Shahrizai. He grew up as a man who is almost always calm and collected, it takes much to get to him. This kind of mannerisms were drilled into him to always pretend to be ‘fine’ around his mother whose attention he wanted none of. At the age of eighteen, he joined up into the d’Angeline army where he would stay for ten years. He was locked into training, steeling his mind and his body, he learned how, if nowhere else, how to live on his own. When he returned to his home in Siovale, he would find his father overworked in order to keep up with his mother’s ever hungry appetite for the extravagant and he began to help his father out in his business, where he would learn the rest that he needed to know of the skill of the trade.
His father died when he was thirty-four and his mother then turned her eyes towards him, her son, who she was determined to have take care of her. He left Siovale then, leaving his mother to fend for herself as he headed to the City of Elua to make his piece and his own money as a chirugeon as his father had. The ever intellect that he is, he is one that sits and waits, though calm as he may be, the Shahrizai in him is still very active and alive. He is a man who likes to be known for that which he created and no one else, having been born with the customary blue-black hair of the Shahrizai, he often keeps his hair shaved, allowing himself to slip in without much knowledge. The ever observer and intellect always striving for more, he loves psychoanalyzing people and taking them apart, making them twist and writhe in ways that no one can really do to him. He prides himself on the steel and core he has developed over time. He loves exploiting any weaknesses that he finds and considering his occupation as well, has become somewhat of a sadist because of it all. Because he is an intellect above all else, he is one that needs to be intrigued or continually give himself projects or he does find himself at odds and bored. He acts, in almost all ways, as a gentlemen in the way he holds himself and the way he speaks, but he is not afraid to speak his mind and in the most eloquent of manners say that you are, quite frankly, very boring.
Now, in the City of Elua, he goes under the name of Shiloh Garnier, as he felt no connect to his mother, though he takes no shame in the Shahrizai name and actually finds the idea of meeting his other ‘kin’ to be a quite interesting concept.
