Name: Yves Chevalier
Age: 28
Height: 6'2"
Race: D'Angeline
Country/Province: Terre d'Ange/Eisande
Julia:
Claire:
Appearance: Yves is the epitome of the phrase "tall, dark, and handsome." He is lean and muscular with full lips and dark brown eyes. His face is angular, his eyes haunted. He is reminiscent of someone who was once happy, but has since fallen from grace.
History: Yves past is a mystery. He appeared at the bath house one day, sword in hand and a bottle in the other. He bedded a woman or two and then never left. He likes the anonymity of the position, and seems to have found some purpose in looking after the women there. Yves exterior is rough, but buried underneath he can be a tender person, though as he was once hurt deeply in love, he keeps that part of him locked away, only showing glimpses of it every once in awhile. He also has a way with children and animals, and though he is often quiet and somewhat taciturn, people seem drawn to him and like to tell him their problems.
His facility with the sword speaks of previous military training, and it has been a source of speculation that perhaps he fought in the war and lost someone close to him. He never speaks of family, which most take to mean that he does not have one, but he will neither confirm nor deny those rumors.
Now comfortably ensconced in his new position, Yves seems content to while away his time at the bath house, keeping watch over the girls and otherwise making himself useful.
During his tenure at the bath house, he met and fell in love with the daughter of one of the other guards, Rosalia. She was pretty and smart, but prone to self-destruction, particularly alcohol abuse. Yves wanted to save her, to rescue her from that life, and for a time, it worked - the fell in love and though they did not wed, she lit her candle and soon after gave birth to a daughter, Julia. For a time, she was a good mother, but the stress of motherhood was too much and she began to drink again. No matter what Yves tried, he could not keep her away from the alcohol. She even drank during her second pregnancy, giving birth prematurely to a second daughter, Claire, who was very ill for months. It was at this point that Yves had had enough. He loved Rosalia, but he would not allow her to endanger his children. He severed ties with her, keeping the children with him. She did not protest, and in fact was relieved to be allowed to drink herself into the gutter with no recriminations.
That was the last he saw of her, and for the past two years he has been raising his children alone, with some help from the women of the bath house.
