First Week of Autumn
Day and night I worked; writing tirelessly at my book as the words flowed from my mind and made shape onto the pages. Everything that had happened between Adin and I were transfered onto the pages in the quise of Donatien and Cereus. Dontantien was the spitting image of Adin, and Cereus was just like me, I even used a story about myself withint her back ground.
I talked about how they had met, about how they had feel in love, and how She, the heroine, had ruined everything. And I had, I had ruined what could have been wonderful between Adin and I. Tabien had abandon me, so had Aloyisus, Adin had been the only one that had loved me, I destroyed it. Perhaps it was because of this knowledge that I had to write the story, or perhaps it was the fact that I was working myself ragged, either way, I was sick near every day and unable to keep much of anything down save the most plain items. I was vomiting in my bedroom receptical when Elenore came in.
"For Elua's sake Sidonie! Let me call for a chirurgeon." The mother's worry came into her voice and I sighed as I wiped my mouth with a towel.
"Its nothing Elenore, its just my nerves." I said in an exhusted breath.
"Its not just nerves my dear, and I think you know it." She moved about, helping me stand up before cleaning up my mess.
"Fine." I said as I sat back in my chair, I had been telling her that I wouldn't see any one for the last few weeks, but I was ready to give in.
"Finally." She said softly, then hurried off to I assume find a doctor.
It was more then a few hours later when the chirurgeon arrived and I was ordered into bed for an examination. He asked a series of question as he touched me, moved me, adjusted me, and other things that were not so pleasent before he pulled back to look at me.
"I have to ask, when did you light your candle?" I blinked at him, I hadn't even told him that.
"I...How did... " I furrowed my brows. " I don't know, a few months ago." I said and shrugged a little.
"I haven't been paying attention to time, I've been busy with work, and I ... I abandon my desire for a child." I felt embarassed, I felt stupid and immature, especially for a woman my age. He simply quirked his brow as he washed his hands and began to put his stuff back in his bag.
"Well, thats too bad to hear, because you're with child, mostly likely three months along at least." My mouth dropped open as I looked at him, absolutely sure that he was simply saying it to teach me a lesson.
"No... that can't be... I mean... I..." I felt like I was in some sort of dream.
"Are you sure?" I asked as I looked at him, unmoving from where I had propped myself onto my elbows. He simply chuckled.
"My dear, I've been doing this for 30 years, I'm pretty sure I can tell when a woman is with child or not." He took up his bag and looked back at me.
"You most likely conceived around the second week of summer." I thought back to that time. There were only two men I had slept with at the time. Tabien and Adin, one of them was the father. I stared off as I thought about it. Well at least it would be easy to know who the child belonged to once it was born. Tabien had blue eyes, Adin brown. What ever the child bore, I would know to whom it belonged to.
"I'll see myself out." I heard the distant voice of the chirurgeon over my thoughts before I heard the sound of scuffling and then Elenore entered.
"Is it... is it true?" She asked, holding her hands to her chest, a half smile slowly creeping onto her lips.
"Yes," I said softly, still unable to move form my bed. "Its true. I'm pregnant."
