Hello Everyone, I hope that the summer was good to you all, let me be the first to welcome us all to the first day of Fall ahead of us. I hope your summers were good, and I hope that your autumn’s look promising.
Down to business; after a quick chat with Valerie and Heather, we came to realize that we had been a little mixed up on the rules of threads and what is considered active or not, as well as the allowances for thread count numbers. Let me first start out by apologizing if this caused confusion with anyone, but let me then go into a recount of what the Thread Hiatus policy means now.
Hiatus: Should you be involved via RP with a player that has now either become inactive due to Real Life situations or simply abandoning the board and their posts. A player is allowed to place their thread on hiatus.
Inactive: Is defined by a players lack of posting for 30 days.
If you happen to find yourself in a situation where a player has been inactive or absent for 30 days, you must contact a member of staff and let them know. A note will be made on your account, and you’ll be free to place said thread on hiatus leaving you a now open slot in the 4 thread count system.
It’s very important that if a player returns, or if you are in inactive player returning, communication must be made between the players as to what you wish to do with a thread. Since most threads tend to have a shelf life, the staff and management ask you to consider first to abandon the thread after agreeing to a situation that would have logically concluded (i.e. Fetes that have already ended, threads that are from months previous according to the board time line etc.). We also ask you to consider making sure that the last post in a dead thread mentions that the thread is indeed closed.
Some threads may be continued as is; this will be at the discretion of the players involved. Either way, you must contact a member of staff to let them know if there has been a change in Hiatus status.
As a suggestion, should a player return and wish to finish an important time line, this can always be done by stating that the thread is a “Back posting”. Noting the time frame at the beginning of the post and changing the title to include “back posting” may allow players to post threads that are not time sensitive. But to be sure, you must remain within the limit of 4 threads even if you choose to do back postings or stories.
Secondly on the agenda is something we attempted to do a while ago, but no proper time was truly devoted to it. In hopes that we are able to give the players here all the opportunities they can to full fill their posting needs, we decided to try to open up other nations for RPing.
What does this mean? This means that everyone now has the opportunity to help build and create the other nations of the world. Aragonia, Alba, even Menekhet, Carthage and Ruskovia, these places are now open for players to create characters in. Be sure to look at the updated Rules of Terre d’Ange to find the rules about creating characters in other nations. But the idea of it is this; each player now has the ability to create up to three (3) characters to begin with in each nation, with a cap at ten (10) characters per nation, per player. So that means any player can begin with up to 3 new characters in each nation adding up to 39 new characters, and work their way to adding as much as 130 to their repertoire! Of course, as stated, there are a few rules to follow (see link above), but if there are any questions about these new characters, or the character rules feel free to ask.
If there are any questions, comments or concern about anything, please feel free to contact Valerie, Heather or I.
That’s all folks!
Thanks
