So, has anyone but me read this one? I actually spent 5 mins or so trying to decide if I wanted this one or Naham's Kiss (can't spell..). I am really glad I picked up this one instead because I don't think I would have ever picked it up if I didn't (I ended up choosing it based on the fact it was a bit cheeper). I am not much into James Bond type stories.. which is what I thought this one was (for some reason).
I was completely wrong on that notion and the book is REALLY good. I am only half way through it but I already love it! I'm starting to think I like Carey better when she's not writing Terre d'Ange. I couldn't get into her second trilogy. Hopefully her third proves to be better. But, I also really loved the Banewrecker books.
But, I highly recommend this book! Its a quick read compared to her other stories, but very good. I'm about halfway through it right now.

I read it and I loved it. She took a completely different approach it seemed with the character voices, but it made them all the more real. I highly recommend it too!

I finished this one not too long ago and absolutely loved it! I wasn't sure how JC was going to do writing in a non-fantasy world but she excellent. I too like her non-TdA books the best. I made myself get through the second Kushiel Trilogy, but I struggled.
I highly recommend Santa Olivia though, I could hardly put it down.
