I nodded with a smile. "I think that that would be a good idea," I murmured, raising to my feet first then offering my brother a hand. Not that he needed help getting up, but it seemed the nice thing to do. I smiled down at him as I did.

I took his hand with a grin and stood. "Thanks little brother."
We went over to the image of Elua, standing proudly in the center of the field. I knelt before it and lay my forehead against his feet. I whispered a prayer, and then stood again, a smile to match Elua's own on my lips.

I watched Christophe go through the ritual and, when it came my turn, did the same, kneeling at the bse of the statue, though I kissed Elua's feet, and prayed that in all that i did, my path was true and right, and thanked him as well for bringing Christophe back to us again. I felt lighter for it, smiling up at his open and happy effigy before rising to my feet.
"Ah," I said with a soft laugh, "I feel better," I said with a smile.

"Good," I told him, smiling still. I slung an arm around his shoulders, and we began to make our way out. I paused us once, to hand over a small bag of coins to Elua's priest.
"So where would you like to go for lunch?" I inquired, once we wouldn't disturb the others praying.

"Anywhere," I replied with a smile. "I am new so I have not the faintest idea of where I would get a meal," I said with a chuckle. "Where do you think we ought to go?"

"The Black Boar?" I suggested. "It's an Alban-themed tavern."

"Sure!" I said with a smile, "it sounds exotic, and interesting. Though you may have to guide me on food selection. I'm not used to ... so much variety."

"Just try whatever piques your interest," I suggested to him as I led our way on foot to the tavern. "This is definitely a time for trying new things yes?"

I smiled at his words warmly. "You know what? You're right. It will be my first adventure!" I chuckled as I walked beside him.

I laughed at his announcement. "Glad I'll be there for it then," I replied.

"Me too," I said, feeling I meant it right down to the core of me. I smiled as we walked. "So... what was it like? Being an adept?" I asked, feeling my cheeks flush. For the sake of teh Gods, I should be able to discuss things like this without blushing... he was my brother afterall!

"It was... fun. Satisfying. Nerve-wracking. The day I finished my marque was one of the proudest of my life," I said.

I smiled as he went over the emotions he felt. "I am proud of you, Christophe. DId you know right away that you did not wish to return to the service?" I asked as we walked.

"I would still be Serving if I hadn't met Mala," I replied with a soft smile. "Valerian had become my home, I didn't intend to leave it."

"Oh," I said with a nod, understanding more and more as the day progressed. "How long have you two known each other?" I asked as we continued on our way. I took in the sights, noting places that stood out as landmarks as my eyes still tried to adjust to everything around me, my mind trying to keep up.

"We met last Midwinter," I replied as we turned a corner. "Before I played the Sun Prince."

"You were the sun prince?" I asked with wide eyes as I looked at him. I had heard of the grand fete held in the Night Court. I frowned. "I am sorry I missed it," I said with a sad smile. "So you met her before that night? And have been together ever since?" I asked with a light jab to his ribs.

I chuckled. "Well no, it wasn't quite that clean. Mala and I have been through a lot together since we met, including more than our fair share of rocky patches, but we discovered that neither of us wanted to live without the other."

I smiled. "I am glad then. Its better than giving up, and I am sure youre both very happy you didn't at the first sign of trouble," I said with a grin. "Christophe?" I started, my voice getting quieter.

I glanced at him. "You can ask me anything Henri," I told my little brother.

I chuckled nervously at what I was about to say, but happy that he welcomed me to talk to him. It was hard, feeling like the only son when we lived in Camlach because there was no other male figure for me to talk to. Pierre.. well... things had been terribly strained as of late.
"How do... I stop being so nervous around women?" I asked, looking to the cobbled street as we walked. "I mean I can talk to them but... well I ... have never really been with one," I said quieter, clearing my throat.

I clapped my arm around him as we walked along. "Just be yourself Henri. If you're true to who you are, there's no reason to be nervous. Besides, not every woman wants a man who's sure of himself to the point of arrogance," I told him.

I laughed, smiling as he gave me his words of wisdom, and nodded. "Well... I can't say that I know who I am I suppose, I mean, outside of the roles I play already at home, and as a brother. I don't know what I would be like with a woman," I explained, opening up to my older brother.
