I smiled, it was always nice when you saw eye to eye with your patron or lover.
I saw the outside of the Laughing Parot. "It looks like we have arrived," i said. "I wonder what sort of show they are playing tonight."

I looked up when she pointed out we were at our destination and I opened the door for her “I have no idea. To be honest I have only been here on a few occasions.” When the door was opened the sounds of voices and merriment came tumbling out the open portal. It seemed whatever was taking place this evening at present there was an intermission.

I walked in with Mathieu, glad to hear the happy sounds coming from the Laughing Parot. I was glad we had walked in during an intermission. I just hoped it was inbetween shows and not inbetween acts of a single show.
"Do you have any place in particular that you like to sit?" I asked.

I shook my head no “Mo it is your pick is this was your idea I figure I will indulge you to continue to be my guide for the evening.”

I looked around, I perfered a seat near the front where you could see all of the action. There was not one right near the stage, but it was probably better. I couldn't ignore my patron after all. So, I chose seats near the front, but not directly next to the action.
I walked toward them and pointed when I figured we were close enough that he would know exactly what I was talking about. "How about these?" I asked.

She indicated a seat more toward the front than I generally prefer but that was all well and good none the less. I like to think I am more than a bit accommodating to those around me when it serves my purposes and at present it served my purposes. “Those will be fine” I answered and stepped forward and pulled out her chair for her.

I took the chair offered by Mathieu and made myself comfortable without being too upfront about it. Some of the crowd was returning to their seats it it seemed the show would start back up soon. I wondered what it would be, a comedy, romance, or maybe a drama.
I turned toward Mathieu and asked, "do you have a preferred type of play that you like to watch?"

After she had settled I took my own seat. From the props that were being moved into place it appeared that this would be a drama. I studied the setting and decided it was most likely one of the plays concerning Prince Imriel if I was judging the setting right it was the epic of his hunt for the bear witch after the death of his first wife a heavy story to be sure but entertaining as well.
I looked in Aaliyah’s direction when she asked her question “Hmm, to be perfectly honest a lot depends on my mood.”

I nodded, it made sense. "I like a comedy at any time, but in general I like anything that at least ends somewhat happily. What about tonight" I asked, "is there anything in particular that you want to see?"

I considered “I am not feeling in a particularly comedic mood.” I smiled a bit and motioned toward the props that were being set up “And it appears that mayhap that is a good thing because unless I miss my guess more of an epic is in store this evening.”

I took more notice of the props once he mentioned them. While I had never participated in any of Englantine plays, I had watched a few rehearls.
"I think you are right," I said. If the play was the one I thought, it was a bit sad. "Though it might sound a bit backwards, I do hope that its not acted out too well. If I am guessing the play right, I don't want to end up crying. That woud be a little embarassing!"

I inclined my head “The whole tale is rather melancholy and leaves one not knowing quite what to think. On one hand foolishly trying to avoid fate and do one’s duty leads to more heartache than one should endure. Yet in the end things turn out more or less how they are meant to but more than a few innocents pay the price.”

I thought about what Mathieu had said for a moment. "I wonder how you be able to tell," I said. "Fate may not always be apparent."
The actors and actresses started to shuffle out to teh floor. The room quited quite a bit, but some light conversation remained.
'It would be a bit depressing to find out that you thought you were doing as you should but fate or the gods felt you should be doing something else."

“Mmmm I tend to think it was rather obvious in this case. I mean the Prince was wed off across the Straits for strictly political reasons. He knew it, the Queen knew it, and everyone knew it. Yet he went along in a misguided attempt to fulfill his duty. It went bad from the start and those who had no part in going against the precepts of blessed Eula paid for it.”

I nodded, "you are right. I wasn't thinking so much abou tthis story specifically though. What if, say, your fated to be with a specific someone, maybe to bare a child of significance. But, that night your suppose to meet you decide you'd rather go with a buddy to a bar when instead you were suppose to meet that person at a fete you were invited too. Or something of that nature."
I thought about the situation I made up for a moment and then gave a somewhat embarassed smile. "I guess that was a silly example, but I am sure there could be a case where you wouldn't really know."

“Hmm, well I tend to think if you are supposed to meet them then fate would not be so irresponsible as to allow you to head off in another direction on the night in question.” I glance at her out of the corner of my eyes “Of course that is assuming one believes that we are not all in charge of our own destiny. I mean if we are all but slaves to fate then really what is the point of living since it is all laid out before hand?”

I had not really thought much on fate or anything before, so I took a moment to think over Mathieu's point. "It wouldn't be fun to just be puppets to fate," I said. I then turned more toward him and asked, "do you feel like your in charge of your destiny?"

I nodded my head and tilted my head at her “To some extent yes. There are things out of our control that we cannot change and simply have to deal with.” I smile grew a bit devious at my words as my mind turned toward my shrew of a sibling. “But I think that ultimately in life we are presented with a variety of choices. Which particular choice we make tends to affect the next series of choices and so on. It is full of variables and often adjusted but in the end our lives are the net outcome of our choices.”

I nodded, I was pretty sure that I agreed with what he said. A little bit of it was over my head though. I was glad I was sent to Eglantine and not one of the other houses that required a little more thought.
"Hopefully at the end of my life I will find out I made all good choices, well at least most of them."

I smiled a bit and absently let my finger nails lightly trace between her shoulder blades “At the end of the day that is really all any of us can hope for.” I then turned my attention back to the play whilst letting my fingers play at the nape of her neck.

Mathieu's fingers felt good on my back. I settled into my seat comfortably, though I ws careful to keep a proper stature. I thought of his reply, it seemed to be true. His attention moved back to the play and I joined him in watching it. I enjoyed art of every kind, including the art of acting a character.

I continued rubbing her neck and turned my attention back to the play. Though I had to soon confess I was becoming horribly bored. This portion in the hunt for the bear witch drug on and on and after a point it became quite vexing. We all knew the Prince had an arduous task but did they really have to go into every excruciating detail? Turning I placed my lips against her ear and asked “Am I the only one who whishes he would just kill the dam fellow so we can get on with the play?”

I quickly brought my hand up to my mouth to stifle a laugh when Mathieu commented on the play. I tended to get caught up in watching plays, but his hand on my neck kept me in the present and I could understand how someone would see the play as slow.
I turned to him and whispered back, a hint of mirth in my voice, "maybe you could jump in there and help him out."

I calmly ran my finger up and down her spine traveling from the back of the seat up to her hair line and then back once more “Hmm, possibly though if I did I suspect the rest of the patrons might not find it as amusing as me.” I crinkled my nose “I tend to find that some epics belabor the point. I mean I get it tracking the murdering barbarian down was a bitch can we move on now?”

While I had not forgotten about Mathieu's fingers by any means, their constant tease of my spine was starting to effect me. I felt a slight shutter, a warm one of pleasure, go through me. I smiled a little for it and for his comment.
"It would have people talking, to see someone just jump into the middle of the play and take matters into their own hands."
I thought for a moment, and then said with some amusement, "maybe I'll paint you next to the Prince, killing the bear witch for him so that he could move on with his life."

I chuckled a bit still whispering to her “Well that mayhap might make an interesting painting. Though I am guessing your other idea may indeed have some merit. Just think about it, perhaps taking to the stage from the audience and taking matters into one’s own hands might become a new form of artistic expression.” I punctuated my words by grasping her ear lobe in my teeth and giving it a slight tug.

I didn't have any time to think about Mathieu's suggestion since he distracted me with his teeth on my ear. I was taken by surprise, but it was pleasantly so.
"I don't know anything about starting trends," I said, "but I like it already!"

I chortled a bit into her ear and let my fingernails tease her as I continued stroking along her back “Well maybe I should let you charge the stage then and set about moving this play of passions along.”

I wasn't so sure about charging the actual stage, but I had no problems making a new one of my own.
"We could start a new act at Eglantine," I said, letting a little bit of a tease come into my voice. "I bet the play there would keep you entertained and there won't be any drawn out unwanted scenes."

Now that was the sort of thing I liked to hear from a lady. I smiled and dipped my head in acknowledgement “Sounds like a splendid idea but you do realize that I shall hold you to your word when it comes to that?” I teased in response even as I was already rising from my seat and offering her my arm.
