Post by Tabién de Valclesa(I) on Aug 17, 2007 20:59:34 GMT -5
Name: Tabien de Valclesa
Gender: Male
Age:27
Race: d'Angline
Appearance: Tabien's facial features are reminiscent of a calmed hawk, a predatory gaze offset by a calm brow, general Siovaleese face, and usually sweet smile. His sable hair falls wildly from his head, unless braided. His blue eyes are the only sign of his Kusheline heritage. His body is the color of lightly tanned ivory, lean and strong, but not chiseled. Over a period of a few years, he's gained a myrid of scars; a large one cutting his back, and skin is tanned and weathered. Usually carries his Cat'yana sword.
His mother is Arlena de Valclesa. Arlena is daughter to a prominent noblemen Tithard de Valclesa. She was of modest size, with sable hair and green eyes. Her estate makes a comfortable living in a classic Siovaleese trade of paper making. His birth father is Carlon de Shahrizai. Like all Shahrizai, he had blue-black hair and blue eyes. No outstanding merits other than a courtier of the realm. His estate lies on the southern border Kusheth, and has a respected ink dying trade.
Due to a convenience of business interests, Carlon and Arlena met as part of a small fete. They kept a hushed correspondence until Arlena reached her majority and wed Carlon. She moved to Carlon's estate, and Tabien was born soon after. He spent summers in Kusheth, and winters in Siovale. When he was 13, his father was killed in a hunting accident. Rumors were abound that he was infighting in his own house, and perhaps killed by another Shahrizai. From then on, Tabien has had a distaste for his own lineage. After his father's death his mother and he returned to the Valclesa estate. There he continued studies which included languages, math, science. However, a year later, a traveler from the west came to their estate. Claiming asylum, the Valclesa estate took him in. Not much older than her father, Arlena took an immediate attraction to him. Within a year, they married in a quiet sanctuary. It was then revealed that the traveler was acutally Benard y Selmicar, a prominent house in Aragonia. They soon moved to said estate, and for 4 years, Tabien was raised in Argonian fashion. However, while he complained little, Tabein never enjoyed took to his new father's offering, despite his mother's happiness. He would visit his estate in Siovale when at all possible. At 16, on his only second trip to the City of Elua, he was taken to the Night Court, Eglatine house.
Upon his majority, Tabein left at the first opportunity.
Entrenching himself in the Tiberium University for 1 year, Tabien tried to forge himself a new persona. However, he had modest love interest during his stay. It never flourished as he found his lover had cheated on him, and in a fit of anger, killed the man, a merchants son.
Guilt stricken by his own deed, he fled as far as he could, trying to take his guilt with him. Eventually, he arrived at the Empire of the Sun, Ch'n. Far from home, Tabein was now
20, and resigned himself to exile in a foriegn land. After some searching, he resigned himself to a religious temple. Asking for redemption to both the Gods of Terra de' Ange and his new home, he found a measure of solace. He took up a martial combat training, most similar to the Cassiline discipline of his home. Between meditating and hard labor, Tabein
dedicated himself to the art, he developed quite well at it, despite coming so late to it.
However, he was always aware of his shortcomings at it, compare to the natives, and it filled him with envy and despair. During his time, the temple was assulted almost regulary by a small contingent of nomads. He proved himself several times defending the temple and surrounding village. For five years, he spent his time there, training, fighting, and thinking and learning. He found lust, but never love. It was when he discovered this, that he quelled his fear, and left for his true home.
With a few trinkets, and years of wisdom, he returned to Terre de' Ange. It was almost a year before he could speak D'Angline again fluently. Upon his return, His grandfather had passed, and the Valcesa estate was held in trust by Arlena, who now enjoyed a prominent role among the Argonian peerage. Tabein took up residence at the Valcesa estate, refusing to take either of his father or step-father's title, adopting the Valcesa name.
His history has shaped him in many ways. he bares an unquenched for knowledge that he's never grown out of, and still embraces wholeheartedly. With age, his vigor has been tempored, but Tabien usually appears to view all things through a child's innocent and curious eyes. For all his travels, his one flaw is social grace, and by way of ignorance does he excuse himself of rudeness. He fights a troubled battle within his soul, between his lineage and the perceived injustices in his life.
