I got mine a few weeks ago and couldn't put it down! It's definitely different from the other books, but has lots of the elements that made me love the others so much. I definitely prefer Moirin's voice to Imriel's, and I love that we get to see even more foreign lands. I'll try not to spoil until you guys have read it, though!

I just picked up a copy while getting my son the Dungeon Master's Guide for his birthday. What can I say RP seems to be genetic. As you guys know I am horribly busy building a house but from the cover it looked to me like it is set a considerable amount of time in the future.
I hope it is not a bust as most of the books I have picked up as of late to put it mildly suck. So something I can actually manage to finish reading would be refreshing.

You know, if you want for interesting literature, I have a whole pile of names to gift you. Or anyone else for that matter. I have awkward tastes though... so......
But! I think the book is lovely so far, still the same writing style, though yes, in the future, but not enough that you become detached from the history.

I just finished Naamah's Kiss and I'm halfway through Naamah's Curse, and...this may be the book snob in me talking, but I'm disappointed. Moirin is a major Mary Sue.

I liked Naamah's Kiss. I don't know why there are so many negative reviews on Amazon. I love how Moirin isn't as stuck up as Phedre. It seems to me, after reading through two trilogies that go on and on about how Terre d'Ange is the best nation EVAR(!), someone needed to critique it.
I'm going to wait for Naamah's Curse to be available in paperback (in a year, le sigh) because I'm snooty about the my books in a series being in the same format.

There are some definite intriguing aspects to the story. I also liked Moirin's more down-to-earth voice, at least at first. She seems even more stuck up than Phedre in Naamah's Curse.
But then, stuff started bothering me. The highly coincidental way she happens to run into homages to every minor and major character from the first series started to get on my nerves. There was just a lot of coincidence in a short amount of time; so many of the plotlines seemed really contrived.
Again, I'm probably just too picky, but it didn't measure up to the first six--especially not the first three--in my mind.
And I totally understand about wanting books in the same format. XD It used to be paperback for me, now it's eBook. It still bothers me that I have Phedre's books in paperback and the other five on eBook, now. *twitch* Barnes and Noble needs to release Dart and Chosen for my Nook, dammit.

I am doing the audio book for this series... and the reader is interesting since she has a accent. Little did I know that I was pronouncing everything wrong, haha. I am not a French student by any means. I had to get use to the voice, but I liked Naamah's Kiss.. hopefully Curse will be good (it is thankfully the same reader). I just bought it but haven't had a chance to listen to it yet.
