"Sweet Camael," I gasped. I had not seen something as grand, having never been to the City, and though the country houses were often large, they were not as pristine, as.... perfect, fasionable.

Henri gaped like any country boy, as had I when I had first arrived. Marie was more composed, and it made me proud of her. I had a feeling that she would do just fine here in the City.
"It's been in Mala's family for some time," I explained as we past through the gates, the carriage carrying Pierre and their trunks rumbling behind us. It was rather fit that Pierre had arrived with the baggage. "The gods know I could never afford something this large on my own. Mala should be waiting for us inside." Even as I spoke, Anton came forward to take Kaffee. I thanked him as I handed over the reins.

I looked up at Christophe. “Will we be staying here, in the house?” I asked. Oh please, let him say yes. This place was so much larger than home, I would have space away from Pierre.

"Of course. I won't have family staying at some inn," I replied with a smile, then bowed and offered my arm to her as if she was a proper lady.

I blushed, I couldn’t help it, even as I smiled and curtseyed. “Thank you sir,” I said, then took his arm.

I grinned, and then sent a wink to Henri. "But of course gentle lady, gracious sir. If you will but follow me?" I asked, then guided her up the steps and into their home for the next little while.
