Mostly everything was finished. My outfit had been commissioned weeks ago and was set to be done within the next few days. The meals and cake had been picked out and stores at the palace stocked for the big day. Invitations where out, and guest arriving, all was left to do was enjoy the time and prepare for the day itself. It was a warm day, though they were starting to cool as we neared autumn, so I was enjoying the late summer heat as I stood in the garden. I took a deep breath, enjoying the fresh air, and twisted the wedding band around my left ring finger, thinking about Aza...as always.

It was so close.
I watched Delaunay from an upper story window, my eyes misted with a wetness I couldn't recall gathering. From his long legs to his broad shoulders, the blue black of his hair - every physical aspect was absolutely perfect... And yet, somehow, it still dimmed in comparison to his personality. How could I have gotten so very lucky? Years ago we'd first met, infatuated instantly, but our blooming romance was torn asunder by the anger of my father. Forbidden to see Del, we drifted apart for years, and then, in the most unlikely of circumstances, we were brought together again, this time by the Queen herself.
I would never forget the look in his eyes when he turned that day, resigned and unknowing who it was suggested he marry, but when we saw each other, everything else faded away. A rosy color washed into my cheeks at the very memory, and now? Now I stood, gazing down at my soon-to-be husband, a smile full of tender love brightening my face.
Wiping my cheeks of the tears, I turned, making my way with a gliding, graceful step down the flight of winding stairs, knowing each footfall brought me closer to him... And then I broke through the patio doors, slipping out with a quiet click of the door behind me, the peaches-and-cream skirts of my dress swirling about my ankles. Not a word; I merely made my way to his side, my hand rising to slide over the back of his arm, my smile an echo of the tender warmth that I'd held for him while I watched him.
It was amazing, how happy one could be.

I had been so engrossed in thought and the sight of the garden that I hadn't heard her steps, but the moment I felt a hand on my arm I knew it was Azabel. It was almost as if I felt her pressence without even seeing her and I turned, smiling to see her next to me. "Aza my love." I whispered before I wrapped my arms around her waist and pulled her to me. "Can you believe how close our wedding is?" I asked softly as I pressed my lips to her forehead.

I smiled, my face pressing against his shoulder as he pulled me to him, breathing in his scent. It was heady, a mixture of sweetness and spice that appealed to me on many levels, though I tried not to think of them now.
"No, I can't," I mumured, turning my face to the side so I could lean my cheek against his as I wrapped my arms around his neck, looped loosely upon his shoulders. "It's like a dream; I'm afraid I'll wake up at any moment." My fingers slid over the back of his neck, just into his hairline; it was so very amazing, being here like this with him. No matter where we were, it only seemed to get better.

I smiled softly. "Not to worry my love, it will always be like this. You and I." I murmured softly as I drew her body tighter to me. I couldn't deny it, I had fallen head over heals for her. I would do everything to make her happy. "Is your gown ready?" I asked curiously.

"Nearly," I responded, smiling up at him with a fondness only he could draw out of me. "There was a last minute change on some beadwork... but it should be done within the next day or two." My voice was strained some, knocked a little breathless by the way he held me, and it had nothing to do with any sort of lack of oxygen. My heart fluttered a little more in my chest, and I leaned up, unable to help myself as I brushed my lips against his in a gentle kiss. "What of your clothes?" I murmured, my voice pitched soft as the close proximity demanded nothing more.

I hummed a chuckle as I held her to me, her reactions obvious as she pressed herself to me. "They are finished." I said softly, kissing her more firmly. "I can't wait to see you in your wedding dress." I added as I ran my hand down the swell of her rear. "I bet you look stunning."

A little twist to my smile hinted at coyness, and as his hand found the curve of my behind, I couldn't help but press a little more into him. "I can't wait until you see me in it either," I murmured, my eyes coursing over the masculine planes of his face. "If for nothing else, but because it means it'll finally be here. The day of our wedding..." When we joined our lives together formally; as far as I was concerned, my life was his already. Content, I felt as if I were wrapped in a bubble of happiness, though rather than a fragile shell, my bubble was made of harder, sleeker materials... And that, I knew, was because Delaunay loved me so very much.

I chuckled softly, smiling as as I kissed her, pressing my lips firmly to her and loving the way she felt against my lips. "Azabel." I said softly against her lips.

"Delaunay," I whispered back, my voice whispered back, savoring the flavor of his name upon my tongue. My arms held him a little tighter, thoroughly enjoying the press of his body as much as he seemed to mine. It was ever amazing, how no matter how many times he held me, he still could make it feel like the first time... and she wasn't sure he even knew he did it.

I smiled softly as I kissed her lips again. "Shall we go inside, or can I have you right here?" I asked in a murmur against her lips, a soft chuckle at the idea.

A smile flashed across my mouth, his impish personality shining through. "I think it'd be far more fair to the maids and groundskeepers if we go inside," I murmured, kissing him softly again. "After all, they'd take one look at you and live the rest of their lives in need." A pure tease; she pressed against him regardless, enjoying the way thier bodies fit together.

I chuckled softly and kissed her lips. "Gods woman," I said shaking my head. "You are a fearsome beast you are." I teased back. I loved her quick wit, the way she always said the right thing and the way that it was so easy between us. I never felt like I would say something stupid, or do that wrong thing with Aza.

"A fearsome beast?" I near grinned at him, pulling back a little so I could look at him better. "If that's the case, then we're a better match than I thought, my love." Bringing my hand up, I tugged lightly upon his blue-black hair, an obvious indicator as to what I meant. Leaning, I pressed my lips to his again, a soft sigh of contentment grazing across the smooth skin of his cheek.

I laughed softly as she tugged my hair gently and then I kissed her in return before pulling back. "We are indeed." I whispered softly. "Do you know how perfect you are for me Azabel?" I asked with a grin, holding her tight to me still. "I couldn't have a better match in all the world, and soon enough the world will know it." I kissed her hard then, my hands windings tight around her body as we kissed.

His laughter brought some of my own, though it faded into a warm, loving smile as he tugged me tighter, his voice a whisper so sweet. Before I could answer him, his mouth was upon my own and I kissed him as eagerly as he did me, never failing to silently marvel the way he could sweep me off my feet, could make me lose my train of thought in one fell swoop. By the time the kiss was done I leaned against him a touch more than strictly necessary, though it might not have been very noticeable given his arms about my waist.
"I love you, Del," I whispered, my eyes upon his, full of caring. "Soon enough we shall be married, and then...?" And then, we both knew. We would begin trying for a child, an ache for both of us, a testament to our love.

I smiled so wide that it was going to split my face if I were not more careful, but never the less I continued to do so as I looked at her. She spoke of our wedding, of how it would be public soon and then... And then. I leaned over and kissed her, my mouth pressing perfectly to hers as if my mouth was made to fits hers. For a moment I simply kiss her, soaking in everything that she had to offer.
"And then we will work very hard at having our first child." I said with a little bit of a teasing grin, my lips moved gently against hers. As if it would be hard at all, to love Aza, to offer my life to hers. "What do you hope for first, a boy or a girl?" I asked, a smile permenantly stuck to my face.
