Question: Kushiel's Legacy- The Movie

*What do you think about some one making a movie about the Kushiel series? Who would play who?

Oh God, I want this to happen, but I'm so worried that I will be disappointed! I actually cried after the Golden Compass because the movie was so bad and I had loved the book so much.

That being said, my cast of characters:

I think David Tenant is too skinny... I alway imagine Delaunay as a bit more muscular, almost with a few extra pounds on him... I'm still thinking about who I think would fit him...

Phedre (young) - She'd need her hair died and some contacts.. but Dakota Fanning... she's growing up well and I don't think there is a role out there she couldn't pull off! I might have to wait a few years to film it.. but she'd be worth it

Phedre (adult) – Katherine Heigl - Mainly because I think she's HOT and she seems to be ok in the acting area, don't know if I've seen her in a role that really tests her skills

Delaunay - Anyone who thinks Johnny can't act is an idiot, he has a very wide vareity of roles! Though I am going for Christian Bale on this one. Johnny is too short for me and my mental image of Delaunay. Bale might be a little young, but a little make up in the right place should make him look the part

Alcuin - Elijah Wood, I think with long platnium blond hair and a real good shave/eyebrow dye job he'd be pretty enough.. which is kind of how I pictured Alcuin. I think he can pass as a younger guy too

Joscelin – For me it was a toss up between Jaqualine Phoenix, becaues I think he could act it out perfectly and Justin Timberlake because he's pretty enough. If anyone thinks Justin can't act.. watch Black Snake Moan.. he was superb in that movie! I think I'm going with Justin just because there is no mention of Jocelin having a small cleft lip

Melisande - Monica Bellucci, I agree 100%! Jolie is good, but she doesn't ooz sex like Monica and I imaged Melisande being able to do just that. I'd actually use Jolie as Phedre if she was a LOT younger! We'd just have to give Monica some nice blue contacts.

Hyacinthe - Rudy Youngblood, He's hot and he fits the whole "brown skin and dark hair" bit. Though I might have to curl it a little more. If he could play his starring roll in Apocalypto as his very first acting gig I've no doubts he could play this character

Ysandre (young)- Ok, don't have this one.. someone who looks like a younger version of Nicode Kidman would work
Ysandre (adult) – Nicole Kidman, This was actually the first character I thought of an actor for. She has plenty of acting experiance and the right look naturally


Ok, this movie can't happen without Selig and I'm choosing Ryan Reynolds.. rough his look up a bit and I've no doubts he could play the character.

Too much estrogen in this thread!!!!!!!!! Joscelin is obviously a very young Clint Eastwood *rolls eyes* Selig Robert Redford in his Jeremiah Johnson persona. That sort of thing geez. Too many pretty boys even if they are D'Angline.

Though I did like the Brad Pitt choice as well as Johnny Depp. But when I saw Troy and thought Pitt played a studly Achillies it made me question my manhood.

I don't really know who would play a number of the characters, but I can't picture Melisande without picturing Michelle Forbes. (Mary Anne from True Blood. She was also on Star Trek, Battlestar Galactica, etc..etc... lol) Anyway, she has the VOICE that I picture Melisande having, and if she died her hair/wore contacts...



She is the goddess of manipulation, I swear.

Now I'm reconsidering for Belluci though. Damnit!
