“It really is a lovely night,” I said, looking up at the stars.

I followed his eyes for a moment and glanced up, the stars a bit more dim than she remembered them- but that was the way it seemed to be in cities. "It is very pretty," I agreed sincerely; it was much easier to accept this too-perfect city in the dark and it made lovely lines against the sky.

“Not like the night sky over the ocean though,” I said, looking back down and smiling t her. “I think that might be my favorite.”

"The ocean reflects the sky very well," I agreed with a nod, cocking my head slightly sideways as I took it in, then turned to look at him with another flush. "But this is good too."

“It is,” I said, smiling at her. “Though I think the wonderful company may be improving my opinion of the sky tonight."

A faint flush colored my cheeks, likely even more subdued by the dim light of the night sky. "I am glad that I am good company."

“I hope we can do it again soon,” I said, smiling. “We need not wait until the wedding to see each other again, yes?”

"Perhaps not," I replied with a small smile and a flush. "I would enjoy that very much, Principe."

"As would I," I said, my voice having grown a little softer. "I shall send you word. Is there anything in particular you'd like to do or see?"

“I shall find out the best place to visit and send word,” I said, smiling and pleased she had agreed.
We had arrived at the end of the street, her carriage waiting patiently. I turned to face her. “It has been a pleasure, truly,” I told her. “I look forward to seeing you again.”

With a courtly nod and a warm smile I agreed and showed it plainly in my features. "I will be looking for your message very soon," I assured him with just a faint flush.

“Excellent,” I said, smiling. I glanced at her waiting carriage. “It seems our night has come to an end.”
