I raised a brow as I looked at Faolan, curious at what sort of war she had seen. It was well known that just previous to the war in Akkad, there started a civil uprising in Alba. It was how her sister and not her brother sat as regent. "I'm not sure the sort of war I saw and the sort that you saw are very similar." I said with a soft chuckle. "I was thankful enough to not see much of the blood shed that others saw, and I have a feeling..." I said tipping to the side to eye her woads. "That what you experienced was certainly much harsher." I knitted my brows a little before tearing my eyes away from her and to the ground for a moment.

"Well," I mused, "war is war, blood shed happens, everyone is a potential casualty," I said with a sad smile, "and it seems that regardless of what side you are on, you are fighting for what you believe in. In that sense, I think, all wars are the same. Death, love and beliefs." I noted how he shifted his gaze and blushed softly. "I am sorry," I said softly, my accent thick again at my embarassment, "it seems I have turned the topic to something terribly morose."

I shook my head. "Oh not at all, a good conversation is a good conversation." I said smiling gently. "Though its hard to think about such things when life seems to be steady, happy, it seems like demons of the past." I knitted my brows as my words but kept a gentle smile, I had a tendancy to speak without thinking and people often thought me bizzare because of it.

I nodded in agreement. "Very true, but I think it always lingers, the past, the events that shape our lives for the future. Without it, we wouldn't be where we are now, or who we are now. So although it may not be terribly good to dwell on the past, it is important, I think, to realize and honour its place in our lives," I said with a smile. "I for one know that I would not be here, and not be the same were it not for certain things that have shaped me, especially that war." I thought to myself inwardly, that that would be a wonderful thing, to not know what I know now. I shook the thought from my mind, and looked upon Quinn and Ghislain.

I smiled and listened to Faolan before laughing softly and looking to Quinn. "I feel like I'm back in classes at the University." I said wondering if he felt the same before I glanced at Faolan. Would I been a blushing man I might have been doing just that.

I listened to them, feeling a bit of an imposition as I had nothing to add to what they were talking about.
I chuckled softly at Ghislain’s words, knowing what he meant.

I smiled to Quinn as he chuckled. "Tell me Quinn, what are you doing in the City?" I asked curiously, hoping to move the subject onto something that we all might enjoy more.

“Just learning how to be a proper d’Angeline,” I said, smiling.

I laughed and that, feeling like I knew something of that. "And you Faolan, what are you doing here in the City?" I said with a chuckle.

I laughed along with Ghislain as Quinn explained his reasoning for being in the City. "Me?" I asked softly, "I guess you could say academia and a bit of self discovery of my own. Though I do wonder," I said looking to Quinn with a grin, "have you now become a true d'Angeline then?"

“I don’t think so,” I said, chuckling. “Still too many awkward moments occurring for me to be a true d’Angeline yet.”

I laughed at his words, then smiled. "You don't seem awkward at all! And I never knew there was a distinction! I fear I will always stick out like a sore thumb here, then. It seems I have been rather terribly clumsy and awkward as of late," I said with a soft laugh, looking down at my dress. It was not terribly short, but definitely not the norm, and it was another thing that stood me apart from others. "Mayhap being awkward isn't such a terrible thing?" I queried, looking from one to the other.

I smiled and listened to the conversation between the two. "I think its a misnomer that D'Angelines are some how all graceful and composed." I said with a chuckle.

“I’m living proof that we are not all composed and graceful,” I said with a laugh.

I laughed heartilly at the two, then looked to Quinn after my laughter had settled with a sigh. "I am sure it cannot be as terrible as you make it sound. Besides, for a people who have the ichor of Gods, I think that even the least graceful amongst you is still rather graceful by everyone else's standards."

I laughed at his mirth. "Well, I am almost tempted to ask you to stand and attempt a balancing act along the ridge of the fountain," I said looking to the water that must have been surely a little cool and laughed again, "afterall, that must require grace and..." I searched for the d'Angeline word for what I was looking for, "poise," I said with a smile though my cheeks heated a little bit.

I watched Faolan and Quinn speak and smiled at the banter, even the blush in Faolan's cheeks as she spoke.

“And because it would require grace and poise, I’ll pass,” I said, smiling. I looked at Ghislain. “He seems more graceful and poised than I, perhaps he’d attempt it.”

I laughed as Quinn offered up Ghislain on the cutting block, looking from one to the other with a raised brow. "Mayhap we all should," I said, though it sounded silly. I learned that, sometimes, doing something rather stupid in nature was the best way to raise spirits and relax, and the Gods knew I needed to relax. "I don't mind starting first, show you yellow bellies how its done?" I said with a soft laugh, though I knew my cheeks flushed at my brazenness. It was hard to keep reminding myself that these were not the lands of Alba, and this was not a battlefield where such banter would be accepted of a woman.

I laughed and shook my head. "I'd likely fall into the fountain." I said with a smile. "So I think I'll reframe from any wall walking."

“I’ll be happy to fish you out if you fall,” I told Faolan, chuckling. “But I’ll still pass. I’m not one to really enjoy walking around drenched.”

I laughed at them both. "Well," I said as I daintilly kicked off my shoes, knowing I would grip the stones better barefoot, "I am not afraid of getting a little wet," I said with a soft laugh before rising and placing a foot on the edge of the fountain, extending my arms to either side of me. "I only prey you don't just me as rather foolish," I said with another laugh as I started to walk around the ridge of the fountain. Well if he thought me too young before, he would definitely see me like a child now. But to the seven hells with that, it was fun, and harmless. I looked back over my shoulder with a smile before continuing, leaving them to chat until I made the full circuit.

I chuckled as I watched her climb onto the edge of the fountain and begin a walk around it before I looked back to Quinn. "Young." I said rather knowingly and then shook my head. "Reminds me of my sisters when they were little." I added, glancing to Faolan as she made her way around the edge.

“I know others who are older than I and are still as relaxed and carefree as that,” I said, chuckling and shaking my head slightly. “Then there’s those like me who weren’t that carefree at any age.”

I had moved most of the way around the fountain now and was rather proud of myself. I still had my balance and it didn't look like I would need any fishing out. I glanced up to see Ghislain smiling at me, and I smiled back softly. In a daring moment of showing off, I closed my eyes, feeling forward with my feet as I moved slowly, my arms balancing me everytime I grew unstead and wavered, until I reached them.
I made a small cheer of triumphant glee, and jumped down from the edge of the fountain, moving back to the side of Quinn to don my shoes once again.
"Did I miss anything?" I queried with a bright smile as I looked from Quinn to Ghislain.

“That we do,” I said, smiling at Ghislain.
Then Faolan returned and I applauded her efforts. “Not a thing, and well done!”

I laughed as he applauded me, rising to give a pair of over-exaggerated bows and curtsies. "Well thank you, thank you one and all," I said with a laugh. I must have been quite the confusing female. Half the time I was blushing over some slight misstep, or illusion of one, the other half I was boisterous or more rowdy without shame. I sat myself down again on the edge looking to the two of them.
"Are the days as lovely as this in Tiberium?" I asked the pair.

I smiled softly as Quinn applauded Faolan and chuckled a little at her acting. I thought about suggesting that she go to the theater, I think she'd enjoy it there. "That and more." I said smiling as I recalled the place I had spent so much time in.
