I had to admit, I had been depressed since arriving in the City. Sophie had already ventured out a few times but I had been reluctant to do so except for the fete I attended.
I missed Tiberium, I missed Azzalle, I missed being surrounded by those that I felt so comfortable around.
But it was getting to be too crowded in the town house, despite the size of it, the house felt dark and sad and I had to get out. I rode my horse Trallion into the city and stabled him before setting on a walk. I needed to get the lay of the land, first it was the City, then the palace.

The weather was too nice to stay inside so I decided to venture out into the city to do some people watching as well as perhaps find some new books.
I decided to start in the Square and made my way there at a good pace. I found a place to sit on the edge of the fountain and smiled, remembering times at Tiberium when we’d gathered at the edge of fountains to debate topics. Drawing my mind back to the present I looked around at the crowd that flowed through the square.

I found myself standing near the fountain, I leaned over to look at the water. Something about it caught my eye as I had been walking, and I took a breath as I enjoyed the image of the water rippling.

I noticed a man come to the fountain and look at the water.
“Nice, isn’t it?” I said, smiling. I wondered if I’d seen him around the city before, he seemed vaguely familiar.

I had cooped myself inside my room at the palace, reading over and over any and all that I could find, including maps, which I tried to commit to memory. I left the palace, but walked this time, the day was gorgeous and I was restless from inactivity. I memorized my way to Elua's Square, although I was rather fearful of messing up. I was pleased how, in short time, I came up on the tell-tale fountain. I smiled at my success as I took a seat at the fountain's edge and looked around.

"Very." I said smiling to him. "Almost hipnotic." I added as I sat down on the edge next to him.

“Hypnotic, that’s an apt description,” I agreed, smiling. I noticed a foreign looking woman sit on the fountain as well.

As I looked around I saw two men conversing. One glanced in my direction, and I couldn't help but smile back. The other I couldn't really make out from where I was sitting, and the angle, but their voices carried over the water and it sounded jovial. I turned away for a moment to look upon the fountain, dipping my fingertips in the luke warm water, letting it pass through my fingers.

I looked to where the gentleman looked and saw a girl before I looked back to him. "Do you come her often?" I asked curiously. "I'm new to the City, but this seems like a place many people come to."

“Not often, but several times. It does seem to be a popular place, and I can understand why,” I said, smiling.

I nodded as I listened, looking around a little as I did. "True enough." I said smiling. "I'm Ghislain de Trevalion." I added, leaning toward her with an open hand, something that was more familiar in Tiberium and a habit I had picked up long ago.

“Siovale originally, but Tiberium before I came to the City,” I said, grinning. “You?”

Taking my attention from the fountain as I heard the men's voices rise, I turned to watch them as they embraced, grasping hands. I had a clearer view of the other man, and noted that I spoke with him at Sophine's natal. I waved, hoping I could grab his attention.

I smiled wider when he mentioned Tiberium. "Azzalle," I said with a chuckle. "But Tiberium before that." I was about to comment more then I noticed some one waving and saw that it was Faolan mab Ceallach. I waved back and gestured for her to come over before I turned my attention to Quinn.

I glanced at the woman Ghislain had waved to and noted it was the woman I’d smiled at before. Then I looked curiously at him. “A friend?”

I shrugged as I looked at Quinn. "Sort of, I meet her at a fete recently, she's the sister of the Cruarch Regent." I said with a gentle smile. "Nice girl, far too young for me." I jested with a chuckle.

Raising from my spot, I smoothed the skirts of my dress as they swished around my calves and walked over to the two men. I had heard just a snippet of what Ghislain had said and faught back the blush I could feel coming to my cheeks. Sometimes I wished my senses weren`t as honed as they were. Young indeed! I curtsied to Ghislain, a little lower than which I would accord an equal, and curtsied to the man beside him.
"Good morning, Prince Ghislain," I said with a smile, my accent deciding to be kind to me today by being faint, then, turning to his friend, "and I don`t believe I have had the pleasure..." I trailed off not knowing who he was.

Prince? I rose and bowed to the woman who’d joined us.
“Faolan mab Ceallach, it’s a pleasure,” I said, smiling.

“Quinn,” I said softly with a smile, curtsying as I tried his name out. “It is nice to meet you as well. I hope that I havent been so rude to interrupt your conversation,” I said as I remained standing, waiting, I suppose, for something that would let me know that my intrusion was welcome.

I shook my head. "I don't think so." I said with a smile. "I think that Quinn and I were just realizing we might have been in Tiberium at the same time." I chuckled and looked to him.

“Indeed,” I said, smiling and sitting on the edge of the fountain again. “It never ceases to amaze me how small this big world can be at times.”

I took a seat beside Quinn as I looked to the two of them, the splash of the water behind me a comfort. I was still getting used to interacting with dAngelines. I crossed my legs demurely as I smiled. “Yes,” I agreed, thinking fondly on how I had found Decimus here, “it is astounding who you can run into out of nowhere.”

"On and off for the last 6 years, though I spent much time at sea during the war." I said as I looked at him and then to Faolan. I hoped she didn't think it rude to continue the direction of our conversation, but I made a note to include her when I saw an opening.

I had been listening to their conversation intently with a soft smile on my lips, but at the mention of war I couldn't help but perk up, my eyes appraising him. I almost missed Quinn's question.
"Tiberium?" I queried. "No, I have not been there as yet, though it may be a very good idea," I said, thinking on my quest. "But war," I said as I let my gaze rest on Ghislain, "that I have been involved in, though probably not the same one as you, Ghislain." The woad markings were tell-tale enough of my involvement.
