Well folks, it looks like this is the end.
I recieved word this morning from the people who own/run proboards and apparently because of all the economic issues in the states, they've decided to shut down their system.
I spoke with one of the admin people on proboards staff and they have assured me that this is not a joke. Which means that in 2 weeks this site will be gone.
Its been a good 4 years, but I guess it had to come to an end some time. I will be searching for other places to start a new RPGing site, and hopefully we can transfer, if not start over again.
Sorry to spring this on everyone, but I just got the news myself.
Further updates will come when I've spoken with my staff and if we manage to find another site to start Terre d'Ange over at.

Oh my God, this is like the poison cherry on top of the poop sundae that is my day today...
What can we do? Can we download the content and archive it? Maybe people should start saving their bios and backstories and plots and things, so that it'll be easier to pick up if we want to.

Awww, boo. I tried to do some research to see if anyone knew how to transfer from proboards, but I wasn't able to find anything viable. Be sure to ask those admin people if there is a way, or if they can facilitate anything for you. What we could do is download as much as possible using the "print" function so it's all on one page and then put it into a service like google docs so that it would be in a central place where everyone could access it. Keep brainstorming people!
Ironic that it would happen on April Fool's Day...

That is a rather depressing note indeed. As a guy who has been around online RP for more than 10 years though I cannot say this is the first time such a thing has happened to me. Hell, the site I was on before here I literally owned and had it cut out from under me......
But anyway! One option you might look into is setting up a site under either a java or html format and playing live in a chat. Of course you would not be able to transfer anything so that would suck.
Since it is looking grim I will say this now though. It has been a pleasure and this board has had a lack of drama that I have not experienced in other places. *points* I still have MSN for those of you who want to keep a hold of me. I will even do my best to recall to turn it on more often. Everyone keep their chins up.

Well, I thought it was pretty hilarious, actually. Didn't believe it for a second. Sorry Kerri My dad tried to tell me that my grandmother passed away today. He's been trying to get me back for many years now, after I made my parents believe (for 5 whole hours) that I had lost my little bro (when I was 12). Hahaha... it was brilliant.

Not as good as the fact I put a post it note over the bottom of a co-workers mouse......though the humor died when he ran ranting to the boss about his computer not working.

Haha OMG Kerri you... are so wrong. I love it!
I told my friends at work I got fired due to the economy today... one cried. I bought them lunch to make up for it. April Fool's Day is a very dangerous day, indeed!

I never play tricks on April Fool's because people always see it coming lol. And I never believe anything anyone tells me, either.

lmfao...I thought it would be funny...I don't think we've ever done any sort of April Fools joke on the board...I thought no one would see it coming But I agree Nicole, I don't usually do anything because people usually see it coming. And I agree too Angel, it is dangerous indeed...
