It didn't take long to pack my things and head to the City. I was to be Sovereign Duc, to be sworn in offically by the Queen herself. It was a strange new world I was coming into, I had not been raised to be Duc. Not only that but the Queen had confered the title of Prince to me as well. It was certainly nothing I was used to.
I had been told that Prince August had been staying at the Palace and the Queen had offered for me to take over his suite. But I felt it too strange, August hadn't been long in the grave and I didn't want to step on any toes.
I rented out a nice town house, with the Queen's blessing, in the North Borough, something with room should my siblings or mother wish to come and see me.
By the time my trunks were settled and a bath prepared, I already had mail to sort through.
I could tell that this was going to be a long road for me to travel.

I had taken a good look around upon arrival and once Ghislain had chosen his room, I found one for myself at the corner of the house. It was perfect actually, lots of light shining in through the windows and a big canopied bed that dominated most of the room. Bookshelves lined the wall with the desk, and doors led to a balcony, more than big enough for a chair and a side table, that overlooked the garden.
I started to put my books away in their new home as one of the maids worked on my gowns. I contemplated what it meant to be here in the City as a Princess of the Blood. I had left AmeliƩ in charge of the young ones, she was old enough now to help Mama. It was our brother that needed minding now. He had never run our household, much less an entire province. And now here we were in the treacherous City of Elua. I prayed that we could both navigate court without sinking. I sighed heavily and went to get another crate of my books.
