I slipped out into the night street arm and arm with Odette. This was goign to be a quite leisurely walk as what passed for a difficult part of town here had not a thing on our original home. I glanced at my thane "We should get you some new clothes and burn that pile of rags." I then pointed my chin down the street toward the building I had leased with the aid of my patron before inquiring of Odette "Do you have any idea where we might find such tonight? Or might that be a matter better tended in the morning?"

Temporally I had clung to Eyvind’s arm though once outside, I slipped over to be led by Uruz. It was where I felt the most secure, the most distracted as I caressed at his arm through the fabric of his clothing. Contently I smiled.
“Of no doubt, Eyvind, your clothing must be dispensed of though it would be best to shop for clothing on the morn, I believe. I’ve had my eye on one shop in particular. We could seek it out then.” I leaned adoringly, if only for a span of a few heartbeats, against Uruz. I truly fancied him, my heart even more so, despite how little I knew of his life.
“Mayhap even a bath, once clothing is procured…along with some food and drink from the market. Whatever the plan…I’ve a bit of coin saved to aid where I may.”

I allowed Odette to cling to me and did not comment one way or another on the pending plans for getting my good thane settled. I was not one for such details, indeed that was as often as not why I had, had Eyvind around over the years so I was content to let those who tended such matters tend them.

I feel into stride with Odette and Uruz, her on his arm and her like for him obvious. The day had been long and I had grown too weary to worry about it so I paid her affections little attention. Odette was a good woman and I was truly glad that Uruz had found one of such high caliber. She was also very generous.
"Thank you, Odette," I said with a smile. "If you spend any moneyes on me I will be sure to pay you back as soon as I am able." I thought of the night growing longer and agreed with Odette. "Tomorrow would be better. I will be able to more clearly think then as well."

“Then lets grab you some bred and get you settled” I replied and paused at a small shop as it was on our way. I let Odette handle the shopping as it was really out of my skill. While we waited I procured one of the extra keys to the forge from my belt pouch and offered it to Eyvind “To the forge. I recommend you keep it looked while we are not opening this is what passes for a bad portion of town here.”

“If you find that your purse is light for a length of time, other arrangements can be made to pay back the coin. Truly the coin, while laborious and difficult in its earnings, is naught the most important of things to me, Eyvind, for I thrust for knowledge. I’m sure there is somewhat you can teach me that will settle any debts occurred.”
I smiled then detached myself from Uruz to see that Eyvind had what was needful for an evening at the forge. It was the simplest of tasks, purchasing a bit of palatable drink, nothing strong, for Eyvind to wash down the sweet bread that I selected.
Once all was settled, I returned with the items and presented them to Eyvind with a charming smile.

I took the key from Uruz and thanked him. "I will take the utmost care to make sure your shop is locked and safe when I am not there." I am sure he knew I would do as much, but I liked to verbalize such things at times.
When Odette came back I thanked her for the nightly rations. The drink would sit well and I had no doubt the bread would too. Though I couldn't remember having ate that particular kind before. I could not think of anything to teach Odette off the top of my head, but I was tired and figured there was probably something. If not I would come by a coin pay back by any means necessary. Chances are I would pay her back regardless.
"I hope that I can show my thanks either way," I told her with a smile. Weariness was starting to settle into my bones. "So, show me this wondrous forge of yours."

I simply grunted my answer as was my tendency lead us on to the forge. It was a small place as such things were reckoned a main room and a small room off the back. I unlocked the sturdy padlock on the main door and opened it before stepping in leaving the other two to follow. I struck a flint and fired several of the lamps about the place and looked about with a critical eye. The room was warm boardering on hot with the fire in the main forge banked. The windows closed now but would be opened if any work were being conducted. The bellows were idle now as well of course but this room held the barest implements of the trade I hoped to prosper in. Various sizes of hammers, tongs, and anvils then of course there was the main massive anvil and troughs for quenching steel. It was basic but would serve for now.
After scowling about the room for a bit and making notes in my mind and nearly forgetting about Odette and Eyvind I remembered myself "This way." I then opened the back room. In this room were various files, honing, and polishing stones, oils, and lesser tools for finishing work. Again it was basic but would serve. I motioned toward a cot and a tub in the far corner as I lit another lamp. "I got a place to lie down and a tub for washing after I get dirty working and over yonder" I motioned "is a pump to draw water. I figured it for cleaning up after work like I said but I reckon it will do you for now eh Eyvind?"

I gentle squeezed Eyvind’s shoulder as we set off anew, strolling along at the fellow’s side and following in Uruz’s wake. The travel was none to pained, so I made light conversation with my company as we went.
Once we arrived, patiently I waited whilst the door was unsecured, lingering in the doorway to allow Eyvind to enter ahead of me, as he would be residing here.
Drifting into the forge, smiling more to myself in spying on the tools of trade that one could certainly admire, I admired all things with my eyes until the men wandered towards another door. I parted ways with the tools, touching nothing as I went along to see what the other room was about from the doorway.

I joined in the conversation as we finished the walk and then followed Uruz as he showed me around. It wasn't the grandest of places, but one could get the job done. It reminded me of how long I had been out from the plauge. This was a roof and his own place of buisness. He had done quite well for himself.
"This is a fine place you have," I told him honestly. "It is not the fanciest, but considering where you started out it is still something to be impressed with."
He showed me the back room and I would be more than happy to stay in it. It didn't smell like animal and it had a bath. "This looks good to me," I told him. Then added with a smile, "at least I don't have to watch where I step for fear of droppings." I then raised a brow before adding, "unless you have taken up some bad manners."

I grunted and shook my head “No, no bad manners. And it is not really my place. I found a sponsor who has supplied funds so it is his place. I must do my best to make it profitable or I reckon I will find myself out on my ass.” I lifted my shoulders and turned my palms up “If there is not anything else you need we should probably leave you to get some rest.”

I chuckled in amusement of their banter, spying upon the manner of the room to reassure myself that Eyvind would be untroubled here before nodding lightly.
“Do rest as well as possible, for on the morn you will be subjected to shopping that might become tedious.” I grinned sheepishly. “I shall leave you two a moments peace…I’ll await my glorious bedmate at the threshold of this place, least he escape and find pleasure elsewhere.”
I grinned a little more then wandered to attend the entrance of the forge, remaining just inside for the benefit of my personal well being.

I nodded in understanding to Uruz, "I will help you in the best that I can so that you do not loose your position here."
After Odette spoke I nodded. It had been obvious by then that the two of them were in a deeper relationship, but I was tired and didn't care for the moment. Hopefully a good night sleep and some food in my belly would set my head straight and life would move on as it should.
She left and I smiled at Uruz, "you found a very sweet girl, I commend you. I am sure I will sleep deep and when I awake I will be ready for anything you two have to throw at me. Rather it be work or shopping."

I grunted “She has been kind but I confess D’Angeline women confuse me terribly.” I scowled a bit and changed the subject “Rest well good thane and I will see you on the morrow.” I then simply excused myself to go and catch up with Odette. It was true she often baffled me. Like so many of her nation she was prone to flowery words and phrases despite her humble origins. I reckoned it was something I would have to get used to. I closed the door and moved on at least things were looking up and I had something warm and soft in a bed with me.

I remained vigilant in my watch of those who passed by the forge. Betimes I nodded, being polite in acknowledging there presence though otherwise waited on Uruz patiently. When he joined me I smiled then slipped my hand upon his right elbow, chattering about whatever sprang to mind as we ventured towards my humble abode.

I smiled at Uruz. I had bed women but I had never been in a relationship with one. I had never found one that suit me. Maybe I would here. I didn't have the urge to chase women like some men do, I just humored the ones who came my way.
I made the bed and ate some of the bread that Odette bought for me. It was tasty, but I made myself save half for tomorrow. After drinking half the beverage I laid down and fell into a deep sleep.
