I waited in the foyer for the other Balm adepts to come. Looking into a mirror, I absently brushed my hair from side to side, trying to shape it in a way I liked.

I headed down the stairs walking gracefully, pushing my hair over one shoulder. Looking around I found myself by Selwyn and I gave him a smile, he looked very handsome, "You look nice, are you excited to be going to the wedding?"

"Yes," I said. "It should be a blessed event." I looked around at the gathering adepts. "Who else are we waiting for?" I asked.

I glanced around looking at all the faces I saw everyday, "Malika I think, I don't see her yet, I'm sure she's coming with us. I thought I saw her getting ready up in the adepts quarters."

"Fine," I said, smoothing my hair again. "How's my hair?"

I gave Selwyn a small smile, "Lovely, I really like it. How's my dress?" It was different than I normally wore, hopefully more stunning, I felt slightly awkward wearing my mother's dress.

The dress was lovely, but Violette looked less than comfortable in it. "You look beautiful," I said. "Remember, it's not the dress, but the lady who wears it."

I gave him a thankful smiles and nodded. "I will have to try and remember that, but you know how found I am of crowds," I said with a hint of sarcasm in my voice. It was pretty well known at Balm, that large groups of people made me somewhat uncomfortable.

"I know," I said, laying a comforting hand on her shoulder. "Don't worry, when you step out of the carriage, it will be you that everyone is looking at."

I gave him a laugh and then a sincere smile, "Aww no Selwyn. I disagree. I think it will be you that everyone is looking at."

"Me?" I scoffed. "Everyone knows that women are the fairer sex."

"Not everyone," I said wryly, "Besides where is your proof of that?"

I shrugged. "Women enchant just by walking. We men have to work harder. Besides, we can't wear such pretty dresses."
I looked around. Nearly everyone was here. "We should probably get going soon."

I gave a coy smile, "Yes I can see how disheartening it can be to not be able to wear a dress." I pointed to where the carriages would be out front. "Let's go get a good seat."
