I narrowed an eye at him, wishing I still had a whole lemon to pick up and throw at him. "You mean flowers and coins, of course," I teased as I followed his smile to the other chap, whom I recognized. I smiled as well, then turned back to Devon. "Do you need to speak to him, or are you ready to head out?"

"Let me finish my ale," I told her with a chuckle, then chugged the rest of the contents before setting it back down and standing, offering her my arm. "Now I'm ready to go, if you don't mind."

I grinned, standing and taking his arm. "Don't let me bully you out of your own tavern," I teased, looking up the long inches at him with a twinkle in my eye. "I know my presence is intimidating, but I don't mean any harm."

"I'll remember that next time I'm shaking in my boots for fear," I replied dryly, though my eyes sparkled in mirth and I led her toward the door. "So, what's your first stop from here?"

I grinned as we made our way outside, the warm sun spilling down on us. I felt better for being on Devons arm, having company rather than being alone. "I wanted to get some fruits before all the good ones are gone," I said, "though unfortunately we'd have to go back to my apartment to drop them off after."

"That sounds fine- and while I'm there I can make sure you don't have anything else that needs fixed," I teased lightly, though with a sincere wish to help. "No more holes in the walls to let in a draft or broken door jams so they don't close right."

I blushed, embarrassed at the state that I lived in, but at the same time knowing Devon meant only good. I just wished I had more... It was especially hard on the days where I model for the Ladies, for I'm admitted into their homes sometimes, able to see their grandeur before going back to my small place, filled with small holes and a sometimes-working lock.
"Everythings just fine as far as that goes," I responded, squeezing his arm lightly and fondly. "Though I still say I should look into getting the door lengthened, so you don't have to stoop every time you stop over." I looked up, grinning; it was fine for me, but too short for him.

"If you're really that interested in such an idea, I can do it, you know," I teased, feeling guilty for her flush and kissing her cheek briefly as I stroked her hand. "I did a lot of my own work on the Patron and I probably remember some of it. You making it your home is what makes it charming, and I'm more than happy to help in whatever way I can."

I smiled, anticipating the kiss and turning my face enough as he delivered it that I showed acceptance, even fondness. He knew it anyway; we'd known each other for too long to not have at least a small level of it.
"Thank you," I responded sincerely as we walked, the fruit stand coming into view through the milling crowds. "Honestly, I really mean it. I'm glad my efforts show, even if just a little." I paused, then added, "I sewed new curtains for the windows as well since you were there last. Something brighter, for spring and summer; A Lady gave me some leftover material."

"And I know you're a fantastic seamstress, so I have no doubt I'll be completely amazed," I assured her. "In fact, if you'd like the work I wouldn't mind giving you some coin to make some curtains for my rooms as well."

"I'll do it, but only for free," I said, smiling at his kindness. We'd reached the fruit stand, and I peered at the wares, disappointed a little to see that most of the good things were gone already. Taking a small knapsack folded into my belt, I put half a dozen winter apples in it, and half a dozen pears. "You've always been good to me - I'd like to repay the favor," I said as I worked, glancing up at him.

"If that is your wish I won't argue- though I am paying for the fabrics," I told her firmly but playfully as I watched her work at the fruit.

"I wouldn't even think otherwise," I quipped back, tossing him a grin as I counted out a few coins to pay for my selections. Making my way back to Devon, I slipped my hand into the crook of his arm, smiling. "Ready?" I asked as I looked up at him.

"More than ready," I assured her with a grin. "Where to next- your home, right? I thought I remembered you saying you needed to drop off the fruit before doign anything else."

"Right," I answered a little softly, giving him a smile as I gently steered us towards the direction of my home. It wasn't far, thankfully. "Its either stop there or carry the fruits elsewhere and likely bruise them," I explained as we moved.

"I understand completely," I assured her. "And like I said, I'd like to see how those repairs are holding up. Wonderful as I may be, I'm not perfect, after all."

"At least you can admit it," I said teasingly as we walked, rounding a street corner and approaching my building. I pushed open the door and lead him up the stairs, counting three doors on the right, then opening the fourth. "Here we are," I said, smiling at him, slipping in ahead of him and holding the door.

"Thank you," I replied with a smile as I ducked under the doorframe and inside, looking the place over and newly committing it to memory. "It's lovely, Myth."

"Thank you," I said in turn, flashing him a proud smile as I moved deeper. There was a small vase in the center of my small table that housed wildflowers, and another on one of the few lonely shelves that adorned my walls. I pulled the curtains back to let the sunlight shine in, giving my clean, freshly scrubbed apartment a soft glow. "Can I get you anything to drink?" I asked, smiling at him from by the window. "I don't have much, but anything I do have you're welcome to."

"Water would be fine, thank you," I replied with a fond smile as I looked around but didn't really pry into anything; the flowers on the table were a sweet touch and I smiled wider to see them. "Do you need any help with anything?"

I smiled as I moved past him to the kitchen, getting a clean cup out and filling it with water I'd fetched earlier this morning. Carrying it carefully, I brought it back, handing it to him. "My bedroom door is hanging a little crookedly and won't shut tight," I admitted, smiling a little ruefully. "I tried fixing it, but I have no idea what's wrong with it."

"Probably the hinges are a bit off, or the door jamb is tilted," I assured her, taking the water and then going over to get a good look before I fetched the tools she had. Floorboards squeaked under me and I made a mental note of that as well.

Making my way behind him, I tried to stay out of his way and merely watched, thankful beyond belief that he was willing to help me out like he did. "I'm just glad you fixed the hole the last time you were here," I said, grinning. "I was always afraid my neighbor would pull the piece of cloth out and spy.

I laughed and blushed, then laughed again at the reaction he managed to get from me. "Maybe I should start charging," I teased, knowing full well I'd never have the audacity to do such a thing.

"You'd make everyone else running a peepshow jealous if you did," I replied with a wider grin. "I'd bet you do better than any of them."
Wedge in hand I went to the door between the rooms and began to slide the wedge underneath, slightly raising the door to see at what angle it matched up to the jamb and get a good look at the hinges, to see if they'd slipped.

I laughed harder as he teased me, making sure I stayed back and out of his way as he worked. "Is that how you make money on the side?" I asked, grinning at him. "Drill holes in your bedroom wall and charge money?"

"That's a very good way to get a disreputable inn, so of course not," I told her with a grin. "Instead, I go and drill holes in the walls of other inns so they get a bad reputation and I get more customers."
