I took a bite of the stew, enjoying it's flavors. I knew some chefs who were snobs and refused to eat anything not from themselves or one of their peers. I was not one of those people. I enjoyed food, no matter who made it and often there was nothing more satisfying than a meal made with care and pure, simple ingredients.
"This is wonderful," I said honestly, smiling before I took another bite.
I smiled at Myth. "Now you know what I do, but what about you?"

I was quite impressed with the notion that he owned his own place, such as Devon did; I could only hope to aspire that high one day. I had a hard time making it as it was, but thankfully I had a few different things to fall back on if one didn't work out. I looked at Devon, appreciating his calm presence, then took a drink of my tea.
I ate a few more bites as I listened to them banter back and forth, chewing idly. The newcomers sudden question took me by surprise and I glanced over, giving a smile that still held a touch of shyness, through my friendliness. "I do a few different things," I said, my voice clear, if a little soft. "I stand as a model for ladies, having dresses fitted on me to ensure movement and fit. I sew, too, and when I can manage, I take parts in plays in Mont Nuit." I smiled at him, finding the courage to ask as I became more comfortable. "May I ask your name?"

I listened, enchanted by the way she spoke and described the things she did. What a wonderfully varied life she must lead.
"Oh, forgive my lack of manners," I said at her question, surprised at myself for such rudeness.
"Plaisir d'Nourriture," I told her, smiling.

"No forgiveness needed," I responded, smiling a little brighter at him. "It's wonderful to meet you, Plaisir." I took another drink of my tea, distracting myself a little. He was awfully nice and quite handsome, and I stuffed away the urge to blush. "You own a restaurant, then? That sounds rather nice. Where about is it located, if you don't mind me asking?"

"On the other side of Night's Doorstep, near the fountain," I answered. "And you can ask me anything about my place that you like, though I warn you that you may regret it after I start droning on and on."
I smiled and then took another bite of stew, not wanting to risk it getting cold before I finished it.

"Oh, I don't know," I said, a knowing tone in my voice as I glanced teasingly at Devon before back at Plaisir. "I've listened to Devon countless times about this place. I'm pretty sure I could handle what you have to say... and I'm interested in knowing, if it helps."

I glanced at Devon and then back at Myth. "But he is a far more imposing figure than I am. I would listen to him go on about anything he wanted to also," I said with a grin.

I laughed, light and happy, entertained by Plaisirs sudden jest. "Oh, Devon knows I could win in a brawl against him," I replied, tossing a grin at Plaisir and Devon both, knowing I probably couldn't move his hand if he didn't let me.

Smiling still at the compliment to my food I began placing the mugs on a shelf, then took the last and drew myself a pint of ale. "She could win too," I replied with a grin and wink of friendship and affection, voice becoming teasing. "Her Tsingani magic would out, or she'd simply look delicate and I'd underestimate her. That's why I'm so intent on feeding her- so she doesn't have that last advantage."

I laughed again, their relationship really was a delight to observe.
"Well, should you two ever come to blows I hope to be around to see who does actually win," I said, smiling.

I grinned fondly at Devon, enjoying as ever the playful jests. "Your stews only make me stronger," I teased back, then laughed lightly with Plaisirs words. "Oh, it would be no contest," I said, reaching over and patting my forearm. "He stands no chance."

"I would bet he doesn't," I agreed, chuckling.
I finished my stew and slid the bowl away. "I feel stronger already."

I smiled, eating a piece of the bread I'd been given. "It's very good," I agreed, my cheeks rosy with the pleasure of the company.

"I did, very much," I said, smiling. "Thank you."
I took another drink of scotch, feeling not only myself than better than a lot of time.

My tea had cooled to just the right temperature by now, allowing me to drink it rather than sip at it. I glanced down at the bowl of lemons, noting how exact and perfect their dimensions were. "If you come here often," I said, glancing at Plaisir with a somewhat shy smile, "I fear I might have to find something else to do to earn my meals. These lemons are shaped very nicely."

"Thank you, but have no fear. I promise not to take over your duties," I told her, smiling. "However if you ever find yourself on the other side of Night's Doorstep and hungry, feel free to stop by Désir and I'll put you to work slicing lemons there."

I thought for a moment before responding, my mind racing. He owned Desir? I blushed, feeling rather idiotic for assuming he was a chef. "Oh," I said after a moment, offering him a smile through the color on my cheeks. "I visit a few clothing shops that way for work as a live model... Mayhap the next time I do I'll stop into your restaurant."
I'd never been there, of course. It was much too pricey for me, though I had heard a few different noble women talk of it, and over me, while I stood in the background waiting to show them their clothing. It always sounded like a very pretty place to go to.

I chuckled softly, busying myself for a moment by taking a drink of my tea before answering him. "I don't mind the work, but I'm afraid my lemons don't look as pretty as yours." I glanced up at him as I said it, my eyes grazing his before being drawn along the line of his jaw. I caught myself at it and brought my gaze back to his again, not letting it fall once more.

"I'll have you chop carrots then," I replied, chuckling. "They always get tossed into the food anyway so no one cares how pretty they are."

I grinned and picked up my cup of tea, tipping it slightly at him. "You have a deal." My smile stayed as I drank the last of it, setting it aside with my abandoned stew. The bread was very good, though, and I continued eating that as I sat. "I think I can handle carrots. Maybe onions, too, if you're feeling particularly spontaneous."

"I'd only give you onions if I was feeling vicious and that would never happen," I said, grinning and giving her a wink. "Feel safe that you'll never leave my restaurant in tears and smelling of onions."

I laughed, appreciating his sense of humor. "How very valiant and noble of you, kind sir," I replied, teasing him. I glanced at Devon and smiled as well, wondering what his take on it was. He was quiet.

I followed her glance to Devon. He had been quiet, and I wasn't sure if that his natural state or if it was a protective silence.

It was in my nature to be social enough, but even more than that I enjoyed watching the interactions between people at times- and as an observer it was sometimes best not to speak at all. Myth and Lord d'Nourriture were getting along very well, and I was glad to see it, for I knew her shyness made her lonely at times and even more self-conscious. With a warm smile I gave them both a nod to encourage them on, then filled up their respective drinks. "I'm sorry, I must have been woolgathering," I apologized to them, continuing to wipe the plates with thoughtless care, then setting the last one aside to check the dishes before the pair. "Any more bread or stew?"

I smiled, glad to see Devon was alright and not retreating. Plaisir was more than pleasant to talk to, but I didn't want anyone feeling left out. Especially not Devon.
I shook my head as he asked if we wanted anything more, done with both my mostly-gone bread and over half eaten stew. "Not for me - I'm stuffed. Give my love to the chef, please?"

"If you insist," I told her with a grin and a chuckle. "Though you could always do it yourself, you know. Just mind you don't trip over any small feet." With steady hands I picked up her bowl and utensils, then set them aside until one of the children came in from playing to gather them.
It was good to see Myth comfortable and happy, and I only hoped the image came more often in the following days then they had the past. "Dessert? I think there may be baked apples," I offered the pair good-naturedly.

"Not for me, thank you," I answered with a smile. "I am quite full."
I took another sip of my scotch, but a small one for I'd already had more than a bit and didn't want it affecting me too much.

I shook my head, though Devon likely knew I'd have refused anyway. I enjoyed sweets and desserts, but only on rare occassion, preferring instead warm bread and crisp vegetables. And fruits.. Oh gods, yellow melons were my favorite.
My tea gone and food finished, I sat back in the chair, feeling quite full. It seemed as if things here had come to a sort of lull and I wondered at what to say to break it, but I usually didn't have to deal with it overmuch. When I was at the playhouse, my lines were writ for me, and when I was live modeling, I was silent, too. No one much cared for my opinion, and I didn't hold it against them.
"Do you come out this way often, my lord?" I asked quietly, looking from Devon and to Plaisir as I spoke, my mouth holding a slightly shy, if friendly, smile.
