It was about a quarter to twleve as I entered the east borough. I left early sine it was an area I was unfamiliar with. It didn't take me long to find my way and I arrived a bit early. It was nice to be early as I hoped to greet Lorna before the business of leaving the city got hectac. I followed directions to the commen room and waited for her arrival.

I rode up to the East Boarding House at the appointed time. My horse slowed gracefully to a stop outside the walkway to the House.

I had woken up and finished my preperations with Kamila, waiting for my two companions to arrive for travel. Packing my belongings, in two bags, I wandered down to find who I presumed to be Astrede waiting in the common room below. "It seems like a nice day for travelling, no?" I gave her a broad smile. "Lorna de Saquell, pleased to make your acquaintance."

I stood as she entered the room. According her a bow for her graciousness and introducing herself. "Pleased to meet you Lady Lorna de Saquell." I straightened and addressed her question. "It is indeed a good day for traveling. I'm quiet excited to get out of the city and see the country side." I saw she had another women with her as well and bowed to meet her.

I noted her bow to Kamila as well, and quickly made an introduction. "Astrede, this is my trusted friend Kamila Resparian, from my estate. She has broughten you a horse for our ride out to the estate."
Kamila blushed, just a bit. "Oh Lorna, you are too kind." She gave Astrede a smile, and a soft "Well met, lady Astrede", then turned back to me. "Perhaps I should go see that the horses are ready?"
"Of course." I smiled as she hurried out to the stables with one of my packs.
I turned back to Astrede. "Would you like a glass of water perhaps, before we leave? Or do you just want to get straight to business, and get out into the country?"

I tied up the horse outside before entering the boarding house. I was directed to the common room, to find Lorna and another lady there. "Good day, Madam Lorna," I said. "I am glad to meet your friend."

I smiled as Zahav wandered in, just as I was offering Astrede a glass of water. "Its good to see you, Zahav! This is Astrede Murain, she will be travelling with us to the estate." I glanced over at the young acolyte. "Would you like a glass of water before we leave? I do believe that we should be well hydrated before our ride."

"Water is good, thank you," I said. "Very nice to meet, Madam Ahh-Ahstreyda." I stumbled over the funny name.

I poured him a glass of water, and cracked a smile at his pronunciation of Astrede's name. After pouring three glasses, I turned back to them, handing one glass to Zahav, and offering the other one to Astrede.

I smiled at the pronounciation he gave my name. It was thick with an unfamiliar accent to me. I took the glass Lorna offered, "Thank you m'Lady Lorna. I agree it is a good idea since we have a long day ahead of us." I turned to Kamila and greeted her before I turned to Zahav. "It is also a pleasure to meet you Zaahov..." I stumbled a bit over his name as well, unable to get his intonation quite right. I looked up to him with sincerity and a smile "it appears we will have to work on our pronounciation a bit more." I nodded my head and turned back to Lorna. "So tell me, how far does your estate rest from hear Lorna?" I sipped my water slowly, so as not to fill up to much and risk an upset stomach on the journey.

I smiled. "Its not too terribly far into L'Agnace, an hour and a half or so, if we go at a slower pace. A little less than that at a steadier pace. You can see the City walls off in the distance." I took a sip of water. "I hope to get there in time for supper."

"That sounds wonderful." I paused fo another sip of tea. I was hoping for the slower of the paces it had been awhile since I had been on a horse. I hopped I did not make a fool of myself. "Thank you again for hosting me Lorna. I can't think of a better way to start what will no doubt be a pivotal year in my life." I smiled and sipped on my water, stealing a glance at Zahav. I was making quiet the exotic aquanitinces lately.

"Its no problem, Astrede. I hope I can provide whatever assistance you require as you start your journey." I took another sip of water, knowing that we should probably depart soon. I was eager to see this young acolyte succeed in her travels; there was no time like the present to start. It wasn't that we needed to leave, more of I was just itching to leave. Ah, curse my impatience!

"I brought a few things" I turned to indicate the bag I had packed the previous night. It was not much just the few items of my possesion plus my new clothing that Brigette no Elgantine was so generous to give me. I turned back and finished saying, "Should I stow them somewhere?" I set my glass down as I felt much more would be over indulging. "I don't want to hold us up." Then smiled a little apprehensively. "You'll have to forgive me if I seem impatient. I've been planning for so long, while waiting out the plague."

I regarded her pack. It was roughly the same size as mine. "We can have Kamila tie it up to the back of her saddle, if you'd like. All of us our riding, so there isn't really any place we can stow them." I smiled sympathically. "Shall we go soon, perhaps?"
I looked over at Zahav. "Are you ready to go?"

I nodded and picked up my pack. Then waited for Lorna to lead the way. Ready as I would ever be.

I smiled at my eager collegues. "Then let us be on our way!"
As I led our little group out of the door, I saw that Kamila had all the horses out, saddled, and packs secured. I turned to Astrede. "If you give your pack to Kamila, she will secure it for you with the other packs."
I walked over to Lufti, one of our gorgeous Vanner geldings. "Astrede, this is Lufti. He will be your mount for the next couple days." I pulled over a small pair of steps in case she wanted a bit of a boost getting on. "You should find him to be a well mannered horse. His name does mean 'kind and gentle'." I gave a tug on the saddle strap and found them just the right tightness. I looked up at her. "Controlling Lufti should be pretty simple. If you want him to go, give him a small kick. To go faster, give him another small kick on the side. To turn, pull the reins the direction you want to go. To stop him, just pull back on the reins." I chuckled a bit. "You shouldn't have to do too much though. He should just follow along with the rest of us." I gave Lufti a nuzzle in his soft mane; it had been so long since I had seen him.
I glanced over at Zahav. Since he had riddened Wafi here, I didn't think he'd need any help mounting his horse. Nonetheless, I turned to him once I saw Astrede was safely mounted. "I don't know how much Kamila told you when she dropped your horse off, but your mount for the next few days is named Wafi. His name means 'reliable', in Akkadian."

I settled into the saddle easier then I had expected. He was a beautiful horse, I remembered how much I enjoyed riding in at home. I stroked him gently on the mane and introduced myslef, which may seem odd, but I thought he may appreciate knowing who was on his back. He was a much larger horse then I had remembered riding. I didn't want him to sense it made me nervous and the little bit of bonding helped me relax before we moved on. "He certinly is a beautiful horse Lorna."

I noticed that Astrede seemed rather comfortable up on Lufti, and looked good on him too. I smiled at her comment. "Thank you, Astrede." I tilted my head over towards Kamila's mount, Hamza. "That's Lufti's father that Kamila is on, Hamza. Beautiful disposition from both the sire and the dam."
It was very well time to go. I went over to my beautiful Eisandean mare, Eira. She looked so out of place among the Vanners, but she was just as ready to go as any of us. I swung myself up onto her, and she gave me a cheerful whinny, making me laugh. "Is everyone feeling comfortable? Shall we depart?"

"Wafi?" I repeated. "I am glad to know his name; I was just calling him 'Susi', is mean 'my horse'."
I mounted him. "I am ready."

Inside, I could feel butterflies. I think that it was because I knew that I was finally going home. Kamila gave me a slight nod, to signify that she was ready. All we awaited for was a go ahead from Astrede; as probably the least experienced of us riders, I wanted her to make sure she was absolutely ready before we got going. I didn't want her feeling intimidated, especially on one of our bigger horses.

"I'm feeling quiet ready, Yes." I sat up and readied myself. It was FINALLY time to go. It had been so long in planning that I wondered if it would ever happen. Now that it was excitment hit me. "Naamah guide me, let us be off" I laughed a little as I wasn't sure I could be heard as the horses began moving in order. How grateful I was. If the present was any indication, Naamah was indeed a good guide.
