I turned my head away completely, looking out the carriage as I struggled with the blanket of sadness that settled over me. He’d asked before how far along my marque was, so I hadn’t been expecting him to ask for a real time on fulfilling our playful story. I felt that perhaps I’d misstepped again and wasn’t sure what to say next.

"Don't be too sad." I said tugging her hand a little. "We have plenty of books to read to bide our time." I said smiling. I reached out as though my hand was guided by some unseen source and touched her chin, bringing her face to look upon mine the way she had earlier.
"I'm not at all unhappy to wait."

His fingers on my chin burned, in the most wonderful way, and I couldn’t help myself but lean into his touch. My eyes swept closed as I fought against the surge of desire within me, my breath came out in a soft sigh of his name.

The way she breathed my name was almost too much, my own breathing began to speed and my pulse raced fiercely, I wanted so badly to lean into her. So badly to press my lips to hers to force down the raging nerves that made my body shake with fear. I wanted to touch the most intimate parts of her body. The image of her rising and falling above me as she rode me resurfaced and I felt my stomach churn with...with...
"Stop the carriage." I called out releasing her completely as I turned, shifting and pushing the door open, I jumped from the still moving carriage. I leaned over standing by the side of the road as though I would vomit. My hands rested on my knees as I bent over at the waist, my head hanging down as I forced myself to calm. My breathing was still hard and I tried fiercely to try to breath slowly.

For the second time this afternoon, I blushed deeply, this time with shame. My eyes had opened when he’d ordered the carriage to stop, but now they closed again, trying to hold in the tears that wanted to fall, as he left the carriage.
Eyes open again, I stepped from the carriage, stopping close enough to him that I could speak for his ears only, but not even close to touching him.
“I’m sorry,” I said softly. “When you touched me…I couldn’t.” I stopped, realizing what pitiful excuses I was making. I was acting like I had no control over myself, like some rutting dog in the street.
“I’m sorry,” I said again. “I think it’s best if I walk home to Jasmine from here. I hope you can forgive me.”

I turned then quickly standing straight and grasping my hand behind her head I pulled her toward me and leaned over pressing my lips to hers, my arm wrapped around her waist and pulled her to me. My heart was racing, my body burning, I thought I would be truly sick but I couldn't, not now. I had to have this moment.
I kissed her fully, opening my mouth to hers, my tongue reaching out to touch hers. I just hoped I was doing it right, it had been so long since I had kissed a woman.

For a heartbeat I froze with complete shock. But with the next stuttering beat of my heart I melted and my body pressed to his. My lips parted and my tongue caressed his. My fingers curled in the material of his shirt, holding tight to him as I let myself drown in his kiss.

My and slipped down her rear and pulled her hips tighter to me, not a care in the world for the driver only feet from us. I kissed her harder, more passionately, as though I was going off to war and she was my bride to be left behind. I kissed her and kissed her till I couldn't breath then pulled back, releasing her completely. One hand came up to my mouth as I stared at her a little, feeling stupid. "Well." I said softly. "We should get back into the carriage."

I staggered slightly when he released me, lack of air and the force of his kiss leaving my head spinning. I reached out a hand to steady myself, feeling my fingers brush against the trunk of a tree. I took two or three deep breaths before my mind could even being to recall how to speak.
“Oh Naamah,” I whispered. My fingers came up and lightly touched my lips. They felt bruised from the strength of his kiss and all I could think of was that I wanted more. My eyes met his. “Thank you.”

I pursed my lips and paced back and forth a little feeling rather stupid like a young man with a crush, I absently ran my hand through my hair, my hand on my hip as I tried to get my breath. "I just..." I was going to explain but decided against it. "You're welcome, I guess." I said with a bit of a lopsided grin. "It wasn't because of you." Ah hells. "I told you, its me, and its been a long time since I've been with a woman. There were.." I furrowed my brows as my hands rolled randomly in front of my body. "There were just so many feelings at once, it was hard to concentrate, I had to get out of the carriage." I ran my hand through my hair again and then across my mouth, the lingering feeling of her lips on mine still burning. "Though I don't know why you would want to thank me." I said smiling lopsidedly again.

“Because I enjoyed that very much,” I answered softly.

"Oh." I said looking a little surprised and glancing up at the sky for a moment. "Oh, well... I enjoyed it to." I said at length, but still felt like an idiot.

The tip of my tongue slowly drew over my bottom lip, gathering in the last taste of him.
“I am sorry though,” I said, my voice still soft. “I didn’t mean to do anything that caused you to react so…so that you had to get out of the carriage. I know you say it’s you, but I should have better control over myself. And for that I apologize.”

"Don't be sorry." I said in a whisper. "I'm happy that you did, I think I...I needed to have a bit of a push." I gave a small half smile.
"Shall we." I said gesturing to the carriage.

I smiled and nodded slightly, moving to the carriage and climbing back inside.

I climbed in behind her and closed the door before asking the driver to continue on. I glanced to Isra and a flash of a chuckle and a grin broke as I thought of what had just happened. I laughed thinking and bent over, my elbows on my knees as I continued to laugh fully.

His laughter made me laugh smile, even if I wasn’t sure what he was laughing at.
“What makes you laugh so?” I asked, still smiling.

I shook my head a little. "I'm not sure to be honest." I said smiling and still chuckling a little. "This has just be a very strange day."

I turned to her and nodded looking over her face, searching it for what I didn't know, mostly just needing to memorize her face. She had a sweet face, so exotic, so beautiful and her lips, oh Naamah her lips were perfect and I wanted to kiss her again. "In a very good way."

I flushed with pleasure and my smile turned softer and more intimate.
“I’m very glad to hear that,” I replied.

I sat straight in my seat and felt strangely lighter, feeling less confined as though I had been drowning before and now I was floating. I glanced to her then to the carriage, licking my lips a little and remembering her taste, then out to the passing scenery before back to her with a smile.

I relaxed back in my seat, smiling. It had been an afternoon of highs and lows, but I wouldn’t have traded it.
“Do you know which book you’re going to lend me?” I asked when he looked back at me.

I turned a little in toward her my hand on the carriage seat, so close to her thigh that I could feel her warmth. "I do indeed." I said smiling softly. "Its a bloody tale." I teased raising a brow and wondering what she would think. I actually hadn't picked the book yet but I wanted to pick something she would like first.

“Sometimes,” I said, smiling. “As long as it’s not all blood. I like a good story in there.”

I chuckled smiling at her, as I did the wind blew up and a strand of hair blew across her face. Before I knew what I was doing I reached up and tucked the errant lock behind her ear. I fought the urge to turn away though, to frown or let my thoughts change. I struggled, I really did. I wished whole heartily that she wasn't an adept, or at least I wished she was marqued. But gods, she was so beautiful, and she made me smile and I wanted to smile. I wanted to loose myself in her. I wanted to take her to my house, and show her my life, to be like a lad again, falling in love for the first time. But I couldn't, not with her.

I smiled with pleasure as he tucked my hair behind my ear and started to thank him, but then there was something else that crossed his face. A shadow almost and I decided not to mention it.
“What about you? Do you like bloody sagas?” I asked, smiling softly.

"Only if they have a happy ending." I said softly, my words some one bittersweet as they echoed my thoughts. "I like just about any sort of tale, mostly because like life you can't pick and choose happy moments or sad moments. They happen whether you want them to or not. Books should be the same way. Even if it makes you cry, even if you hate the book when you're done, they should be read either way."
