Now that Merav was recovered from the plague, there was nothing keeping me from looking for a job. Merav's initial offering had fallen through, but she suggested I go to the business sector of the City and see if anyone was hiring.
I took it upon myself to go to Elua's Square and call out my skills:
"Speaks Habiru, D'Angeline and Menekhetian! Strong with long endurance! Willing to work any hours!"

I had been wandering through the City proper, no mind of where I was really going when I happened upon Elua's Square. It was a rather gorgeous day, and I found that I was one of only a few there. No surprise, as the plague had just left the City, and people were still gaining their bearings, to be out of doors, and explore. Glancing around the square, I saw a striking looking foreigner standing in the middle of the square, shouting his skills. He must've been looking for employment. I thought for a moment; I could use an extra man for prep and for help during the Midsummer Faire with the horses. Smiling to myself, I meandered over in his direction.
"Good day, m'lord." I gave him a small curtsy. "It's a fine day, isn't it?" I smiled. He was taller than I, and handsome. I tried to place where he was from in my mind, and failed. "Are you seeking employment? Have you any skill with horses?" I hoped that he did; this would be a boon from Elua if I could gain the help I needed here.

I bowed deeply. "Not lord, madam," I said, in my semi-broken D'Angeline. "Zahav ben Tzipor, of Saba. I seek job; now I live with friend of mine in charity. I worked with horse in Menekhet, when I was passing through. But look -" I had long gotten over shame, and I now displayed my muscles "-I am strong, can do any work, lifting, carrying, pulling, anything you need."

I regarded him closely. He did look like he could do the work I required of him, but was he trustworthy? I sighed softly. I did need the help for the Midsummer's Faire. "Well, Zahav..." His name rolled off my tongue, in a pleasantly foreign manner, and I gave him a small smile. "Would you be interested in helping me with my horses I am selling during the Midsummer's Faire? I would give you fair pay for your time."

"Yes, madam," I nearly shouted, happy to finally be employed. "You will not regret me, I promise."

I couldn't help but smile at his enthusiasm. "Well Zahav, I'm sure glad that you accepted. I do quite need the help."
Just then I realized, I had not introduced myself, and what a shame it would be to not even know the name of your employer! "Please excuse my manners, Zahav. I'm Lorna, Lorna de Saquell." I gave him a nod, still smiling.
"I'm currently residing in the East Boarding House, if you need to find me in the City for anything. I am planning on staying in the City for a while longer, but before the Faire, I will be riding back out to the estate to prep the horses, and ready them for arrival to the Faire. Where may I send a missive to, to let you know I'm ready to leave and I require your skills?"

"Na'im m'od*, Madam Lorna," I said, unsure of the D'Angleine expression. "I am living with my friend, Merav de Valentin. You can send me messages there."
*Nice to meet you

My eyes widened a bit at his foreign language; I had never heard it before, and I was quite fascinated. "I will send you word when I need you, Zahav." I smiled pleasantly. "Plan on hearing from me sometime within the week before the Midsummer's Faire."
