I led Astrede down the a few blocks and to a shop that I knew with better fabric swatches.
"Here," I said smiling as I tugged her into the shoppe. "Much better." I opened my hands as I gestured to the largese of the room.
"Now, lets see what we can get."

My eyes bulged at the amount of fabric, just fabric. It was wonderful. I calmed myself and picked up a draped end of rich red cloth that was so smooth it slid through my finger like water. It was cool to the touch and had a elaborate motif of intertwined leaves and stems. "I'd much prefer to see what you find, this is your domain Brigitte. I am not so nieve to try and outsmart you here." I gave her a mischivous little smirk. "I would like to know what this is though?" Holding up the fabric I had in my fingers. I presented the end to her.

I smiled a little as I looked around taking in all the fabrics and nodding the the shoppe keep that recognized me. "Satin." I said touching the fabric. "Unless I'm mistaken." I looked around again and then back at Astrede. "Awefully expensive." I noted. "But I like where your mind is going." I looked through the other bolts and found one of satin, but light blue like the sky. "This might be better. Its not as expensive as the one you picked out but just as good quality." I thought of things. "Oh damned, I wish I had my parchment pad."

I picked up an edge of the light blue she picked. "It's beautiful... kind of reminds me of the lakes in Namarre. Blue would be differant. I'm so used to seeing red. It's a good color for me. Right?" I held up the edge and draped it over the neck line of my robe.

I thought about it. "I like the blue for you eyes, something in red would be good, something that still shows you're an acolyte of Namaah but I think a gown of this blue would be perfect too." I observed looking at her. "I think I could manage at least three gowns out of what you're paying. One red, one blue, and one... hmm, green I think." I grabbed another bolt of colour and held it out.

I looked up apprehensively to her, wondering if she was joking. When I was sure she was serious I gave a gapping little giggle. "oh, I think green would be great." I dropped the blue bolt I was holding and looked at the the green bolt she was presenting. "So what do we do next?"

I looked over her. "Well, first I need your measurements, then I can figure out how much fabric I'll need to cut for." I looked over her. "But we should find the colours I like first." I hummed looking at the items. "Which green to you like." I said holding up two different colours.

"Ummm, the darker one. I like rich colors." I indicated toward the one in her left hand. "So Birgitte, tell me something about yourself. So far all I've discovered is your name and your talent for clothing."

"Oh, I'm boring my dear." I said softly looking over the darker shade, which I had been glad she chose. I went about looking at the cost of the fabrics and adding prices into my head. I serched through the each of the bolts trying to find similar cuts that were less expensive but still good quality. "My father was a Priest of Namaah though." I said smiling to her.

I smiled back quiet glad that she had offered a commen thread. I turned back to the rackand looked at some other bolts I rich peach one chaught my eye, it was solid and soft, very light weight. I replied as I flipped it over and moved to another. "Well I wold say thats good since I know little else." I said a little sardonically. Then swithed to a more serious tone. "Were the two of you close?" I wondered if it had anything to do with her training at Eglantine.

"Not entirely," I said finding a bolt of blue that would work better then the one I had picked earlier. "He died when I was five." I said matter of factly. "My father was a Priest of Namaah in Alba and thats where he met my father. She herself is half d'Angeline and half Alban. They fell in love but he was killed when I was young and my mother came here. She's the head gardener of Eglantine."

"Well In sorry to hear that." I relpied in an even tone. "Your mother must be exceptionally good to be the head gardner of Eglantine." I noticed the blue that she pulled from the shelf. "That one looks nice, what kind of material is that." I decided to stay on the safe subject of fabric.

As I looked over the fabrics on the wall near the blue I noticed a rich brown. With a soft nap and a miniture intertwining pattern of leaves that ran diagonally on the grain of the fabric. The small leaves and vines were embroydered on it in a slightly lighter color that brought out th highlight in the nap. It was simple and rich, aboulustely beautiful and I had to have it. "Oh, Brigitte" I exclaimed through a deep intake of breath. "I must have somethingin this, It's wonderful!" I looked at the price and guessed it was more then the other fabrics shehad picked. "I will pay for it myself, really. I love this though. It may sound a bit weird but brown is my favorite color and the pattern is so simple and delicate looking." I turned back to her with the bolt in my hands for inspection. Hoping she would be approve and perhaps inspired. It was actually a heavier wieght then I expected and looked very durable dispite the fragile appearence.

I looked over the fabric. "Alright," I said smiling. "If that is your wish." I looked around. "You know, they have a room in the back were they do special fittings, mayhap I can convince them to let me take you measurements here and then we can buy the fabric's now." I said before turning to look for some one to help. I spotted a shop girl and then looked back to Astrede. "I'll be back in a moment."
