The plague had washed through the City it seemed, with deaths in its wake and a strange feeling of both exuberance and despair. Half the city mourned over lost loved ones and title holders, leaving heirs in their wake. Half the city was out in the warmth of the day, victorious over their illnesses.
I remained immune some how, but mostly because I stay away from everyone sick...not that it was hard to do.
But now I had some time on my hands and I was looking for some clothing for the summer season. A fair was coming and that meant new outfits for peers and a chance to make my name and spread it farther.
I had a mind to pick up some foreign inspired clothing and tweak it to D'Angeline style.
I entered Porte Étranger and began to peruse.

As I continued along the store fronts my eye was caught by the Porte Etranger. It didn't look like the place I would find my cloak, but that didn't mean there wasn't something I needed int there. My wardrobe lacked anything for variety. I had not shopped for myself well, since forever I guess. Definately not for indulgence. So I decided to enter and explore thier racks. It was a delightful scene. Vibrant colors, rich textures, even the scent was exotic. I reached out to the first rack I could and picked up a beautiful dress which had a classical Hellen look to it, not entirely like I had seen in books. More modern of course and the fabric was wonderful. It slid through my fingers and looked weightless but was surpisingly heavy for it apperance. So I continued through the store until I nearly ran into another women. I had been so enamored with a fine silk tunic with an embrodard trim I had not noticed her behind me. I was startled when I burshed her shoulder. "Oh, M'lady... Pardon! I'm afraid my attention was elsewhere." I instinctively gave her the bow of an acolyte's greeting. Which I also felt silly for. I was so out of sorts I began to blush.

I was about to tell the person who bumped into me that they should watch where they were going when I noticed who it was that I bumped into. Curtsying a little to her I smiled. "Not at all sister." I said softly.

"Thank you M'lady. Astrede Murain acolyte to the temple of Namaah." I spread my hands in introduction. which were still laden from my travelling purchases. "I assure you grace is usually one of my better atribute. It just so happens that shopping is not my forte. Perhaps you could direct me to something more apt to blend in a bit?" I was dreafully ill advised in the way of fashion. I wanted something more discrete for when I was in public. Since my facilites no longer were restriced to service at the Temple and I would be socializing in greater amounts. I tried not to look confused but my brows were still knit in desperation.

I smiled a little. "Well, Astrede." I said smiling. "You're found the right person, I'm Brigitte nó Eglantine and I happen to be a clothier."

I wave of relief sturck me. Truely I had been guided to meet her, for I was in utter confusion at the point when I ran into her. "Thank Namaah Brigitte no Eglantine, for she's truely spared me by bringing me to you." I chuckled a little how funny two of her children meeting her in a clothing shop. "I'm in need of proper attire that does not make me stand out so." I looked down at my commen robes as indication and back up to her. "Your opinion would be very appreciated. Everything here is so beautiful yes, but I'm to travel in everything I purchase. Most imoportantly a cloak. One that does proclaim my position to some extent, is practical. Am I even in a good place for these things?"

I looked over her and narrowed my eyes taking her in before I rested my hands on her shoulders and spun her slowly, my eyes apprasing her clothing.
"First of all, how much to you wish to spend?" I asked. "I assume you don't have a largese of funds to live off of." I tapped a finger to my chin.

I smiled at her shrewdness. I wonder how closely it played to her ture character. "You are correct an acolytes wages are nothing to boast of. I have put aside a couple hundred for clothing however and already covered my riding attire." I held up the bag with my recent purchases. "I'm now looking for something that will leave a little more alluring impression." I gaged her to be a women who could advise me well on appearal that would intintice and not impose.

I nodded. "Well unless you're eager to have some one confuse you with a foreigner then I suggest not buying anything from here." I said with a bit of a sigh.

"So I can see" I giggled a little. "I don't want to be known as anything but an acolyte, I just don't want to look like one all the time. Frankly I was just drawn in by all the exotic fabrics and patterns. I take it you are just looking as well? Or will you being posing as a foriegner soon?" I jokingly refered back to her previous statement.

I smiled slightly unamused at the joke but didn't let it show in my face. "No, I was experimenting." I smiled. "I think I had just the idea for you. Come, we should try a different shop with more fabric bolts." I took her hand and pulled her along with me as I exited the shoppe. "I'll wave my usual fees and anything you would have in mind for a patron's gift. Call it a donation to Namaah's service. And I'll do up some inexpensive gown for you to take with you."

I was far to surprised to comment all at once. I followed for a short distance without comment. Then stopped abruptly. I addresseed her very firmly and seriously, for her offer was far to genourse to simlpy reply thank you to. "So you wish Brigitte no Eglantine, so it will be. I will offer a gift to Naamah's Temple for your generousity." I took her arm again quiet nonchalantly, given the tone of my previous statement. Then began walking on. "So where is it you are taking me? If you don't mind my asking?"

I was a little taken back at the moment but shrugged it off. I was simply trying to save her some of her money, but if she wanted to give it away anyway I wasn't going to say no.
"I'm taking you to another shop." I said softly with a wink.
