I can't remember the name of the trilogy at the moment (in DC visiting a friend so I can't look at my books) but does anyone know when the third one is coming out? I was really really taken by these books as well. Carey truely is a talented writer, but after the ending of the second book I am REALLY looking forward to the 3rd. I will say though, when you read the books, whatever ending you think will happen, your probably wrong. I was really surprised at how the second one ended. But, I love that she surprised me! It doesn't happen a lot.

The Sundering (Banewreaker & Godslayer) was a duology and not a trilogy, there's no next book. It was originally going to be just one book but it was too long so it was made into two.
I love the Kushiel books (obviously), but I think the Sundering books are my favorite JC books.

Really?? I swore I read that it was a trilogy somewhere. Maybe I was hallucinating, haha. All well, maybe she'll stumble on this board, see this thread and think.... "you know, I should make a 3rd one" haha
I do love her books about Terre d'Ange, but I did like the Sundering books better. I couldn't put them down at all!

I know this thread is kinda old, but I am reading The Sundering books now, so I thought I'd post ;D
I love love love the Kushiel's books, but these books are really hard to get into for me. I like the concept, but I don't know, they are just slooooowwww. Kind of disappointing after the fast pace of the Kushiel books.
Luckily she has new Kushiel books coming out, so yay!

I found it hard to get into them at first.. i think because I had Terre d'Ange in my head... but once I got over that I LOVED them! I do like them better than the Terre d'Ange books. Espcially her second trilogy... I never finished them... maybe the third one will draw me in more.

Something tells me I should pick these books up and give them a gander? I don't know though, I have utterly loved the Kushiel Legacy. I even went in search for other books like it. There is another author who has something slightly similar, but it's just not the same It's hard to live up to that kind of predecessor.
