Post by Nicola de Soria (D) on Jan 23, 2006 16:30:25 GMT -5
Name: Nicola Elysia de Soria y Aragon, Duchesa de Soria
Age: 20
Race: Aragonian
Gender: Female
Appearance: Nicola was named after her great-grandmother, Nicola L’Envers y Aragon, as she is the spitting image of her ancestor. Though by now very far distant from the Courcel family (and only through the L’Envers line), Nicola has the violet eyes that are its trademark. Her rich bronze hair tumbles down her back, and she is a very slender 5’ 8”. Her body is lithe and graceful. She doesn’t seem to care about current fashion, but wears the best garments for her figure and colouring. She often catches men’s eyes, and pretends not to notice, but she secretly revels in it.
History: Nicola Elysia (following tradition, she took her second name from her mother) and Duca Tomás Luis de Soria had been friends since her childhood, and he always watched out for her as a brother. His first wife was often sick, and it was difficult for her to conceive. When she finally did, she tragically died in childbirth. Tomás was left heart-broken, a widower of 39. He cut himself off from the social life of Aragon, throwing himself into the management of his estates. Nicola’s father, a long-time friend of Tomás, sent the family over one summer’s day to try to cheer him up. He and Nicola spent the entire day together. Though nothing improper happened, Tomás seemed to come back to life when he was around her, and realized that she had become a young lady when he was locked up in his study. He inquired the next day, and her father was more than happy to give his daughter to his rich friend. At 17, Nicola and the Duca were wed.
Nicola was nothing if not practical, and she sat down with Tomás before the wedding, and they spoke of her duties as his wife. They loved each other dearly, but they both knew her desires were not always to his tastes. So though she is not a virgin, she is more of a daughter to the Duca than a wife. He dotes on her, and she in turn makes him enjoy life. Most peers in Aragon, who don’t understand that their love is on a whole other level, look down on the couple, but they are happy, and don't care who knows it.
Tomás was awarded Ambassadorship to Terre D’Ange shortly after they were wed, and the couple moved to the neighbouring country, taking up residence in a large and well-appointed townhouse near the Night Court.
NPCs
Name: Duca Tomás Luis de Soria
Age/Race: 43 / Aragonian
Description: Tomás is a shrewd businessman who has made a fortune through trade, and has been closely aligned with the Aragonian crown for years. Recently awarded the Ambassadorship for Terre D’Ange, he made the unusual decision to bring his young wife. He is not overly worried about begetting an heir, though he wouldn’t mind a child from Nicola. He is a portly man, starting to go bald, but his voice can inspire order in any situation and his wit is still sharp.
Names: Javier and Rosita Forjador
