Clothed in a deep violet, I made my way down to the foyer of the palace. I was waiting for both Coretta and Leyna to arrive for our day shopping.

Exiting the carriage, I made my way up the stairs and into the Palace once more. I had started to wear the dress that Nic had given me, but thought the better of it since it seemed a little too joyful a color. Instead I had settled on a steely grey dress with ivory lace at the hem and cuffs.
"Sabrina," I said, smiling as I entered the foyer. "I am so glad everything worked out for this little excursion."

I grinned happily seeing Leyna enter. "Me as well." I said smiling. "I think it will be a pleasant time all round."

I had spent a lovely morning free to do as I desired. The D'Essoms woman was off running herself to pieces no doubt finishing the tasks I had set her. I'd be busy again tomorrow, but today- well today the party could go hang, and I would have my shopping.
I changed again before meeting Leyna and Sun. No doubt both of them would admonish me for dressing to scandalously for a girl my age and I didn't want to start a fight today. So I put on a black velvet dress with pretty black on black embroidery and grabbed a black cloak. My hands lingered on the red velvet with the Vermandois crest but I left it be.
Sun and Leyna were chatting as I came in and I felt my heart sink to see their closeness. So I put a smile on my face and resigned myself to being ignored today.
"Sabrina, Cousin Leyna. I'm sorry I kept you waiting."

"I only just arrived myself," I told Coretta.
Smiling wider, I went over and embraced her.
"I am so glad you could come with us today," I said, truly pleased that she was coming.

I smiled seeing Coretta and even more when Leyna embraced her.
"Well, shall we start our little adventure?" I asked happily.

I returned Leyna's embrace, if a little awkwardly. Why was she being nice to me? My behavior toward her had not been the best. But my smile warmed a little and when she let me go I smoothed the fabric of my gown self consciously. I really would do my best not to ruin things today.
Especially as Sabrina was in violet. Granted, it was dark violet, but still... Stop it! Be good for once!
"Um, I just need a pair of long gloves and shoes. I had my dress commissioned some time ago. So why don't we start with what you both need primarily, then work our way down to accessories." I offered quietly. I also needed something scandalous to go under my creation, but didn't think I could do that with them in tow.

"You are in far better shape than me," I said, laughing. "I need absolutely everything."

"Then we should start right away." I adjusted my cloak gently and pulled on a pair of soft leather gloves and pulled a fur hat that one of the servants handed me. Of course, they were predictably black. I missed colors.
"So, do either of you have a preference where we start?"

Smiling I shook my head, I needed everything as well.
"You choose." I said knowing she probably knew the streets better then I, it had been a long time since I had roamed them and even then things seemed different.

"Yes, you choose," I agreed, smiling. "You always look so nice, I am sure you know the best places."

I didn't know whether to preen of blush from their compliments. The attention, and praise, was so...different.
"Well. I have a shop I go to for my designs, run by a former adept. His ladies do good work and his own designs are fetching. And his shop is in the heart of the clothier's district, so finding everything else should be easy. Let's start there and move outward." I took a few steps toward the door and the waiting coaches.
"Let's get moving, shall we?" I could do this. I could show them around and not cause a scene.
Couldn't I?

"See, I knew you'd know just the place to go," I said, laughing happily. I walked after Coretta, feeling absolutely filled with joy at how this day was going and at life in general.

I smiled contently at the exchange, part of me wanted to question how Coretta had so accustomed to the streets of the City, but I had to remind myself I had done far worse at her age...and she was slowly reaching age of marjority. I followed as well to where the royal carriage waited, behind us stalked the royal guard as well as a cavalry escort on horse back.
