Leaving for the L'Envers wedding

I had just finished doing up my dress and putting on my jewelry when I Looked up to see if Nic was almost dressed as well.

"Are you ever going to be ready?" I teased, knowing it took me far longer than it did him.

[Nicanor de las Aragonia]

"Sorry, I thought I had time for a three-course meal," I teased as I stood, hair combed into place and dressed neatly, then softly kissed her neck. "You look lovely, and we should go before I think of anything else to take up our time and we're late."

"I know, you're so slow," I said with a laugh, taking his hand. "I'm ready, I've been waiting on you for hours."

[Nicanor de las Aragonia]

"I've been waiting on you for days," I retorted in a playfully childish fashion, sticking out my tongue and then making way to the door.

Grinning, I let him lead me out, eager to be on our way for all that I had taken forever.

"I hope you're quicker on our wedding day," I told him when we reached the bottom of the stairs. I could see the carriage waiting outside.

"You too, or I'll have to marry one of your bridesmaids," I teased as I opened the main door and led her out to the waiting carriage. "And none of them will be as pretty as you."

"I know, I'll make sure of it," I said with a laugh as I stepped up into the carriage and settled myself.

[Nicanor de las Aragonia]

"You would, too," I replied with a playful sniff as I climbed in and sat beside her. "Not based on friendship or family ties, but their being less attractive than you."

[Leyna de Somerville]

"I will do whatever it takes to keep your eyes on me alone," I said, chuckling as I leaned against him.

[Nicanor de las Aragonia]

"And what of your eyes?" I asked, playfully indignant as I stroked her cheek, not wanting to muss her hair. "I know you have some."

[Leyna de Somerville]

"I can look, just not touch. Isn't that how it works? Or do I get to touch too?" I asked playfully as the carriage began to move.

[Nicanor de las Aragonia]

"Sure, if you like being single," I replied in a similar tone. "Are we going to pick up Shylah on the way back?"

[Leyna de Somerville]

""That would be nice if we can, I miss her," I said, pressing a little closer to him.

[Nicanor de las Aragonia]

"We'll have to stop by and see if she's well enough to move then," I said, hugging her tightly for a moment. "No fear, she's likely fine and as anxious to see you as you are to see her."

[Leyna de Somerville]

"I don't know, she seemed awfully happy to be home. I am so guilty of neglecting her anymore, I don't spend nearly enough time with her," I said, laying my head on his shoulder.

[Nicanor de las Aragonia]

"You take care of Shylah better than I have ever seen anyone care for a dog in my life," I told her gently, kissing her temple. "She understands, just as you understand her."

[Leyna de Somerville]

"And you take care of me better than anyone ever could," I told him, smiling. "you always know how to make me feel better."

[Nicanor de las Aragonia]

"I suppose it's nice I'm good for something besides looking handsome and fulfilling your every desire," I replied, chuckling. "And you, as I'm sure you will hear from every member of my family, are far too sweet and good for me."

[Leyna de Somerville]

"Probably not, they'll likely be like my family and just be glad I make you happy and keep you out of trouble," I said, grinning up at him.

[Nicanor de las Aragonia]

"That's another possibility," I agreed, kissing her nose. "As well as ones I'm sure I haven't thought of. They are all anxious to meet you, though."

[Leyna de Somerville]

"I'm anxious to meet them too."

My grin turned mischievous.

"I have to make sure I got the best one of the lot before I start giving you kids."

[Nicanor de las Aragonia]

"Oh, that's just cruel," I jested back. "Trying to make me get into a fight with my brother like that."

[Leyna de Somerville]

"Would you fight for me if it came to that?" I asked, still playing but curious as well.

[Nicanor de las Aragonia]

"If I had to," I replied, watching her reaction. "Would you not want me to?"

[Leyna de Somerville]

"It's rather romantic, actually," I said, smiling.

[Nicanor de las Aragonia]

"It's a bit less so in reality," I told her honestly, having seen a few such duels before. "The blood and the violence tend to overshadow the ideal at stake."

[Leyna de Somerville]

"Oh gods, I'd never want you to do it for real," I told him. "I meant in theory. I'd never want to take the chance of you getting hurt because of me."

[Nicanor de las Aragonia]

"I know," I told her, stroking her hair again. "It was just a statement. You'd never want me to do something like that, which is one of the reasons I love you so. Those games always bothered me, which is why I made sure to steer clear of them."

[Leyna de Somerville]

"I'm glad you did, for it brought you to me." I pressed my lips to his, kissing him deeply.

[Nicanor de las Aragonia]

Humming with love and pleasure I kissed her in return, though I didn't seek to deepen things; after all, she likely would rather leave her hair and clothing as it was, not muss it with out passions. I had, however, been wrong before, and could be convinced I was so now.
