Returning from the estate

The trip had been a pleasant one, even if the spring rain that had fallen had kept Nic and I from our planned diversion.

As it was, the weather cleared as we were arriving back in the City. As I had known they would, my parents loved Nic. My mother cried more happy tears than I thought possible and my father looked ready to burst with pride.

Reaching across the space between us, I squeezed Nic's hand, holding the reins in my other hand. "I love you," I told him as we turned to head down the street to the townhouse.

Though it hadn't been as stressful as I'd at first worried I was still glad to be home, her parent's blessing present and able to announce Leyna and I's engagement from the rooftops if I wished. "I love you too," I told her as I squeezed her hand back.

"So, tell me honestly, did my father drag you off and interrogate you while I was sleeping one night?" I asked with a grin.

"Yes- and there was torture as well," I teased broadly. "In truth, no. Why, do you wish he had?"

"No," I said, laughing and caressing his arm before bringing my hand back to my reins. "I just wasn't completely sure it didn't happen."

"He may have tried to but you know how I sleep," I replied, grinning as I ran my hand over her cheek.

[Leyna de Somerville]

"Yes, I do," I said with a smile, leaning into his caress as much as possible.

We turned into the courtyard of the house and I let out a happy sigh, it was good to be back. I loved home, but this was the home I was making with Nic. The only thing missing was Shylah, she'd broken her leg chasing a rabbit and had to stay at the estate. It had been hard leaving her, but the trip to the City would have been unendurable for her.

We were back home and I dismounted once I was inside the gate, rubbing Noche's neck and waiting for Leyna to do the same. "So, who are you going to tell first?"

Dismounting, I rubbed Soir's neck as I handed over her reins to the stable boy.

"How about the first people we talk to at the wedding and everyone after that?" I asked, laughing happily. I reached out my hand for his. "Speaking of which, what are you wearing to the wedding?"

"Whatever's clean," I teased, squeezing her hand softly. "I don't want to go so completely formal it's not any fun but I know better than to be too casual. YOu pick something and I'll find something that's close to that."

[Leyna de Somerville]

"I'm wearing a light blue dress with silver accents," I told him. I'd snuck off one day before we left and bought the dress, wanting to surprise him. "I just hope it doesn't show too much skin."

I glanced at him, grinning, as we entered the house.

"And I almost hope the exact opposite, save I'd hate to offend your family," I teased, brushing a hand over her rear. "Silver and blue, then. I'll go with grey and blue. Fair enough?"

"Sounds perfect," I said, managing to press against his hand as we walked. "Remember to keeping an eye out for things you like and don't like for when it comes time to plan our own wedding."

[Nicanor de las Aragonia]

"I can already tell you that- clothing and crowds," I teased as I squeezed her rear just slightly. "Let's just get married naked in bed."

"Fine, but you have to explain those details to my father," I told him, laughing and pulling away to begin rushing up the stairs.

"Perhaps we should go practice…"

[Nicanor de las Aragonia]

"How does someone so sweet as you think up such wonderful- I mean, sinful- ploys?" I jestingly called after her as I quickly gave chase, just a couple steps behind her the whole way.

"You inspire me," I said, laughing as I let him chase me into the bedroom.

Oh yes, it was good to be home.
