I nodded. "Wonderful?" I said softly a hint of teasing. "I wondered when you two would finally kiss and make up."

"We never fought," I teased, elbowing him softy in the ribs, a grin on my face. "But yes, he's doing very well. Were you planning on seeing him at some point?"

"August and I were never really friends." I stated simply, looking away once more, my face emotionless in thought. "I'm sure he doesn't remember me." I looked back to her and broke my thoughts with a smile.

I wondered what he was thinking, though I didn't press, merely giving his arm a soft squeeze with my hand. "I can't say whether he does or not, though I'm sure he would like you."
I gave him a supporting smile before looking away, offering a subject change should he prefer a different one. "The weather really has warmed as of late. I missed the flowers."

I laughed fully stopped and released her arm, my hands went to hers and cupped it gently between my two. "Oh Mirielle my dear," I chuckled, my amusement waning. "You are too sweet for your own good." I shook my head turning away from her and releasing her hands clasped mine behind my back and continued to walk on my own. Glancing behind me at her I chuckled once more and shook my head again.

Barely a chance to react, I stared after him as he walked away, then turned, laughing softly and shaking his head. I moved after him, catching up in a few long strides and taking my place by his side again. "I'm not always sweet, you know," I said, my voice holding a lilt of tease. "I can be mean."
I narrowed my eyes, trying to look serious, but knowing all the while that I was failing miserably at it. A grin came over my face as I looked down at the ground before us, then back up at him again.

I stood raising my hand and single finger into the air. "Mean?" I asked mocking my disbelief once more. "You mean to tell me you can be mean?" I leaned in and kissed her cheek. "Then a kiss to quell your anger and an arm as an appology." I winked and offered my arm once more. "Though I highly doubt you can be that mean."

I tensed, thoroughly expecting more pinching, prodding fingers when he suddenly swooped in and kissed my cheek. I shook my head with a small smile and took his arm again, walking once more at a slow, steady pace. "Tell me you have a wife," I said, chuckling, "because with your charm, I'm sure you have to beat them off with a stick."
I looked at him and grinned, my hand giving his arm a squeeze again.

I smiled to her. "I don't, and I do." I replied to her comment. "I had no urge to marry cousin." I added. "I'm enjoying the women I do bed and won't think other wise till a meet a worthy foe." I gave her a teasing grin.
"And you, will you marry dear August?" I wondered how long their relationship had being going on. Not too long it seemed but I would be curious to know other wise.

I nodded, understanding his standpoint. "There's no point in rushing," I agreed.
At his question I smiled, glancing up from the trail to look at him. "I hope so," I answered. "He's a fine man, after all."

I was looking at her when she answered me, but nodded and looked away to where we were walking. "Very agreeable." I replied. "He's a very lucky man for sure."

I watched him for a moment, wondering what he was thinking. "Thank you," I said warmly, if quietly. "No one really knows yet - you're in on the gossip early," I added, grinning a little.

"Excellent!" I exclaimed smiling back at her, my grin slightly fiendish. "I wonder how much they'll pay for that down at the tavern." I teased.

"You never know," I teased back. "Mayhap enough to buy yourself a new suit."
I grinned, greatly enjoying the light banter.

"And what's wrong with what I had on?" I questioned with a teasing grin. "You mock me madame and I take offense."

"I wasn't mocking you," I grinned at him, then paused our walk long enough to lean up and kiss his cheek. "But if I did, a kiss for salve, and an apology to go with it." I grinned a little more, my eyes twinkling as I looked at him.

I chuckled. "Now you're really mocking me." I laughed. "Will you offer a boon for your offense?" I added curiously.

I blushed, but smiled broadly at him nevertheless. "Do I get to know what it is first?" I asked, amsued.

"Ah, but that's the amusment of it. Let it be a surprise cousin." I said smiling, my face showing nothing of the clever thoughts beneath.

"Because I trust you, and I know you wouldn't do anything to bring me harm," I said, looking at him with a small, coy smile, "then alright. A boon to you."

I stopped us and turned in toward her. "I thank you my lady." I said softly before leaning in and placing a lingering kiss against her cheek.
"I'd like to claim the boon now Duchesse, if you please." I added once I had righted myself.

I smiled at him, wondering just what he was up to. As sharp and witty as he was, it could be a number of things. "What is on your mind, Damien?" I asked, my cheek still warmed by his kiss.

I ran a thumb absently over the cheek I had just kissed, removing anything lingering. "A picnic cousin." I said raising a brow wryly. "A ride on horse back, and a meal lake side. I've heard tell of a wonderful little spot with a natural spring."

I mentally relaxed, though I was schooled enough not to let it show. "Sounds lovely," I said pleasantly. "Did you want to keep it to the two of us, or were you planning on inviting others?" And might I invite August? I haven't quite got you figured out, cousin-dear. It's been a long time.

I saw the look in her eye when she asked if I was planning on inviting other. I gave a half smile. "Well I was just planning on you and I," I said with a calm smile. "But if you really want to invite the Queen, well I'll have to oblige." I teased rolling my eyes and avoiding any seriousness.

"I'll see if she's free," I said, teasing him back. "Care to get going now, then? It's such a beautiful day out." I smiled at him, enjoying our time together greatly.

"Now." I said in mock surprise. I hadn't been thinking that moment but I could roll with the punches. "Do you have a mount?" I was thinking about food and horses as I waited for her reply.

I laughed, reading his face like an open book. "Mayhap I'm too jumpy," I said, grinning at him. "Would my lord prefer a different day?"

I took her hand and bowed over it kissing the top of it in an extravagent fashion.
"But my lady under estimates me," I said rising with a smile. "Any day would suit, today as a matter of fact. Tomorrow, the day after, or a fortnight. What ever the Duchesse desires." I kissed the top of her hand again, this time lingering with a wry grin and a raised brow.

I laughed at his playfulness as I stole my hand away again, flashing him a coy grin. "Today, then, though I'm afraid all I have is my carriage. Shall we meet at the main gates in, say, one hour?" I asked, my eyes flashing in humor.
