Somehow I managed not to search Nic out and spend the time until dinner with him. I went home and smoothed things over with everyone, even Shylah.
Back on happy terms with all, I went about getting ready for the dinner. I bathed and washed my hair. Once clean, I went to my closet and picked out a dress. I choose one that was made of a deep maroon silk. It had long sleeves, but a fairly plunging neckline.
That done I went to finish with everything else. A touch of color to my lips and eyes, hair done in a simple, yet elegant updo and I was ready.
I told Anne not to wait up and hopped into the carriage, heading back to the palace.
