Name: Juniper Frizon
Goes by: Seraphina Frizon
Age: 21
Race: D'Angeline
Appearance:
Juniper is rather tall, and long limbed. She is 5'8" with jet black hair and bright blue eyes. Her form is well muscled, as she often gives a hand in the business carrying loads, riding horses, and taking care of the wagons.
History:
Juniper's mother is Evelyn no Bryony and her father is Farnel Frizon who grew up trading with his father. Farnel has a knack for numbers and good business. At the age of 18 he expanded his father's small trading to a large scale operation. He met Evelyn in the city of Elua, and it seems that she was the only one he'd ever met who bested him at his own game. They fell in love, and Evelyn married Farnel. Together the couple expanded their trade, mostly in silks, spices, and gold until they dappled in almost everything and had become somewhat of a mogul in the trading and caravaning business. But Evelyn was getting older, and at 35 she decided she wanted a child, and Farnel agreed they must have someone to give the business to. So with many prayers and the best physicians money could buy, Juniper was born.
Shortly after, Farnel bought the Givenchy Duchy in Eisande, a day's ride from the harbor in Marsilikos, and gave it to the newly mothered Evelyn as his gift to her for a heir. Farnel bought the duchy because the Givenchys were having finical problems (mainly due to the Duc's son), but has not bought the title of Duc with the Duchy. Farnel has only successfully been able to buy the title of lord and lady, although has consistently asked for the title from the crown. This had been to no avail based on laws of inheritance. Farnel has, however, financially swayed the family Givenchy to give the title to Juniper through inheritance. On the Givenchy Duc's death (he is 56) the title will be turned over to Juniper. The Duc's former heir and only son has turned criminal and has lost most of the family fortune. He was disowned out of shame. His other two daughters are already married off to other peers with titles and lands of their own.
Juniper's training was very hands on as her family showed her the ins and outs of trade by having her accompany them in their caravans and ships. She was even present in deal making meetings, and allowed to give her opinion. Juniper is multi-lingual, and knows where to buy the finest silks, best spices, and how to get a deal on them. She always pays her taxes, and often sends excess gifts to the crown in thanks for her good fortune.
Juniper is on her way to the city of Elua, to expand her business more by opening shops in the city, trying to cut out the middle man. She is opening three shops, one is a whole sale shop for sellers; the second is a shop for the working class selling well made garments, and useful tools; the third is a high fashion shop for the rich. She knows the latest fashions in most countries and loves using herself as a model to show them off. This is the shop she is most excited about and she is hoping to create a couture market for the rich lords and ladies of Terre d'Agne. Her parents have given their blessing, and Juniper has been hiring the best clothiers in different countries, bringing them all with her to Terre d'Agne.
Personality:
Juniper is somewhat of a princess without the title of royalty and is the only heir to the trading throne. It is rumored by some that her family may be richer than the queen, but no one knows for sure. Her family is newly rich, and a lot of the nobler families look down upon her and her blood line as the family's titles and land have been bought from the throne.
Growing up as an only child, she was spoiled, and a "no" to her is an outright slap in the face. Like a true self indulgent child, she loves being the center of attention, and has been known to do pretty outrageous things to bring other people's attention to her.
As a little girl, Juniper once heard a story about a witch who was a beautiful as the sun and stars named Seraphina. She has gone by the name Seraphina ever since, and only her parents know her real name, but will never speak it in front of her in fear of her rage. She is a shrewd trader, and somewhat of a genius with numbers, and odds. Evelyn taught everything she had learned from Bryony and Farnel taught her everything he knew about judging people and running a business, and Juniper is a very good judge of character. Sometimes knowing people better then themselves, otherwise how could she know what to sell them in order to profit?
She believes everyone owes her a great respect and sometimes comes of haughty. Juniper's downfall may be one of her best traits, knowing when to gamble. And gamble she does, she almost never turns down a wager and has little feeling for the results it may bring onto others. Not that she is unkind, she just can't be bothered. Luckily for her she almost never loses, and knows the odds and chances of what she gets herself into. She can often be heard saying, "I only bet on a sure thing."
Juniper has a bit of an anger problem, and while won't generally hit people, she throws temper tantrums almost daily and is fond of throwing and breaking things. Servants avoid her at these times, and often her parents are at a loss on how to quell these outbursts, and so have learned to offer her something to become more civil. While these tantrums are frequent, they are never witnessed by customers, or anyone not directly employed in the household or close to her. She doesn't want anyone to think any less of her than a charming, bright young woman, and knows that if she is caught in an outburst it could be a downfall to her reputation. Sometimes she tries to control these outburst by hiring Valerian adepts to take it out on.
Juniper is a great lover of women, and although she had been known to lay with men, it is often seldom. She particular has tastes for shyer girls who are sweet as honey, Bryony adepts, and Valerian adepts. What is to be known about Juniper's taste for Valerian adepts is quite simple, she uses them in a way that others seldom use them. She likes to dominate them, but not with whips and chains, but with manual labor and complete reverence to her. Most Valerian adepts probably wouldn't accept her assignations, being too proud to scrub a floor, but Juniper pays well, and never leaves them that badly hurt or bruised.
