Name: Aelan nó Gentian
Age: 19
Gender: Female
Race: D’Angeline/Eiren
Appearance: Aelan is 5’9” with waist length curly red hair. She has piercing green eyes, pale complexion, and high cheekbones. She is slender and graceful when she walks. Her body sways when she walks as if propelled by and imaginary breeze.
History: When Aelan’s father, Jaspar, was a young man he desired to see the world. His father had been successful in fabric trade with the east, so he sent his son on his merry way. Jaspar left behind a younger sister who had just entered into House Gentian.
Jaspar left the City of Elua and headed north. He had heard stories about Three Sisters and Alba and wanted to discover the lands for himself. Over the course of a year, Jaspar made his way through Alba and traveled west to Eire. It was here that he met and fell in love with a young peasant girl named Morgana.
The young couple were soon married. They worked happily together on their farm. Jaspar grew grain in the growing season while Morgana wove linen. After six months of marriage, the couple was expecting their first child, Aelan.
Three weeks before Aelan was born, Jaspar received a letter from his sister. He had not heard from her in years, and he was troubled by what news the letter would bring. His sister warned that their expected child would be different, special. She would have mystic gifts beyond their time. His sister strongly advised to have the child sent to her to be fostered at House Gentian where she could receive training with her gifts. Jaspar unwisely dismissed his sister’s advice and mentioned nothing of the letter to Morgana.
Two weeks later Aelan was born. As a child Aelan was constantly in trouble. If something was misplaced, broken, or undone Aelan was seen as the culprit. When Aelan turned ten, odd things would happen around the house when she would sleep. Objects would be moved around the room. Entire meals would be prepared for the morning. None seemed to know what to think of this. Aelan dreamed odd dreams but could never remember them in the morning.
The night the barn “mysteriously” caught fire was the last straw, literally. Jaspar packed Aelan up to move to Terre d’Ange, the land of his birth. He sent word to his sister, now a former Adept of House Gentian, to prepare for the arrival of her niece. Aelan said her tearful good byes with the hope that her aunt had learned some skills at House Gentian that could aid Aelan in discovering why she had such weird dreams.
